kanad ke anuyayiyoan ko kanad kahate haian. in logoan ka kahana hai ki jagat ka mool karan paramanu hi hai. paramanu ke vishay mean kanad ki aur pashchimi adhibhautik-shastrajnoan ki, vyakhya ek hi saman hai. kisi bhi padarth ka vibhag karate karate aant mean jab vibhag nahian ho sakata tab use paramanu (paramanu) kahana chahiye. jaise jaise ye paramanu ekatr hote jate haian aur bhinn bhinn padarth banate jate haian. man aur atma ke bhi paramanu hote haian, aur jab ve ekatr hote haian tab chaitany ki uth‍patti hoti hai. prithvi, jal, tej aur vayu ke paramanu svabhav hi se prithak prithak rahate haian. prithvi ke mool paramanu mean char gun (roop, ras, gandh, sparsh ) haian,pani ke paramanu mean tin gun haian, tej ke paramanu mean do gun haian, aur vayu ke paramanu mean ek hi gun hai. is prakar sab jagat pahale se hi sookshm aur nity paramanuoan se bhara hua hai, paramanuoan ke siva sansar ka mool karan aur kuchh bhi nahian hai.

jab sookshm aur nity paramanuoan ke paraspar sanyog ka ‘aranbh’ hota hai, tab srishti ke vyakt padarth banane lagate haian. naiyyayikoan dvara pratipadit, srishti ki utpatti ke sanbandh ki, is kalpana ko ‘aanrabh-vad’ kahate haian. kuchh naiyyayik isake age kabhi nahian badhate. ek naiyyayik ke bare me kaha jata hai ki matyu ke samay jab usase eeshvar ka nam lene ko kaha gaya tab vah ‘pilavah! pilavah!’ -paramanu!paramanu!paramanu!- chilla utha. kuchh doosare naiyyayik yah manate haian ki paramanuoan ke sanyog ka nimitt karan eeshvar hai. is prakar ve srishti ki karan-paranpara ki shrriankhala ko poorn kar lete haian. aise naiyyayikoan ko seshvar kahate haian. vedaantasootr ke doosare adhyay ke doosare pad mean is paramanuvad ka (2. 2.11-17), aur usake sath hi sath " eeshvar keval nimitt karan hai," is mat ka bhi (2. 2. 37-39) khandan kiya gaya hai.
