“man se duahkhoan ka chintan n karana hi duahkh-nivaran ki achook aushadhi hai’’[1]; aur isi tarah man ko dabakar saty tatha dharm ke liye sukhapoorvak agni mean jal kar bhasm ho jane valoan ke anek udaharan itihas mean bhi milate haian. isiliye gita ka kathan hai, ki hamean jo kuchh karana hai use manonigrah ke sath aur usaki phalasha ko chho d kar tatha sukh-duahkh mean samabhav rakh kar karana chahiye; aisa karane se n to hamean karmacharan ka tyag karana p dega aur n hamean usake duahkh ki badha hi hogi. phalasha-tyag ka yah arth nahian hai, ki hamean jo phal mile use chho d dean, athava aisi ichchha rakhean ki vah phal kisi ko kabhi n mile. isi tarah phalasha mean aur karm karane ki keval ichchha, asha, hetu ya phal ke liye kisi bat ki yojana karane mean bhi bahut aantar hai. keval hath pair hilane ki ichchha hone mean aur amuk manushy ko pak dane ke liye ya kisi manushy ko lat marane ke liye hath pair hilane ki ichchha mean bahut bhed hai. pahali ichchha keval karm karane ki hi hai, usamean koee doosara hetu nahian hai; aur yadi yah ichchha chho d di jaye to karmoan ka karana hi ruk jayaga.

is ichchha ke atirikt pratyek manushy ko is bat ka jnan bhi hona chahiye ki har ek karm ka kuchh n kuchh phal athava parinam avashy hi hoga. balki aise jnan ke sath sath use is bat ki ichchha bhi avashh‍y hi hogi. balki aise jnan ke sath sath use bat ki ichchha bhi avashyak honi chahiye ki maian amuk phal-prapti ke liye amuk prakar ki yojana karake hi amuk karm karana chahata hooan; nahian to usake sabhi kary pagaloan ke se nirarthak hua kareange. ye sab ichchhaean, hetu ya yojanaean parinam mean duahkhakarak nahian hotian; aur, gita ka yah kathan bhi nahian hai, ki koee unako chho d de. parantu smaran rahe ki is sthiti se bahut age badhakar jab manushy ke man mean yah bhav hota hai ki “maian jo karm karata hooan, mere us karm ka amuk phal mujhe avashy hi milana chahiye’’- arthat jab karm-phal ke vishay mean, karta ki buddhi mean mamatv ki yah asakti, abhiman, abhinivesh, agrah ya ichchha utpann ho jati hai aur man usi se grast ho jata hai aur jab ichchhanusar phal milane mean badha hone lagati hai, tabhi duahkh-parampara ka prarambh hua karata hai.

yadi yah badha anivary athava devakrit ho to keval nirasha matr hoti hai; parantu vahi kahian manushyakrit huee to phir krodh aur dvesh bhi utpann ho jate haian jisase kukarm hone par mar mitana p data hai. karm ke parinam ke vishay mean jo yah mamatvayukt asakti hoti hai usi ko ‘phalasha’,‘sang’, ’kam’ aur ‘ahankarabuddhi’ kahate haian; aur yah batalane ke liye, ki sansar ki duahkh- parampara yahian se shuroo hoti haian, gita ke doosare adhyay mean kaha gaya hai ki vishay-sang se kam, kam se krodh, krodh se moh aur ant mean manushy ka nash bhi ho jata hai [2]. ab yah bat siddh ho gee ki j d srishti ke achetan karm svayan duahkh ke mool karan nahian hai, kintu manushy unamean jo phalasha, sang, kam ya ichchha lagaye rahata hai, vahi yatharth mean duahkh ka mool hai.
