janamejay ne kaha– bhagavan! dharm ke dvara prapht hue dhan ka dan karane se yadi shvarg milata hai to yah sab vishay mujhe shpashht roop se bataiye; khyoanki ap pravachan karane mean kushal haian. brahman! unchhavrithti dharan karane vale brahman ko nhyayat: prapht hue sathtoo ka dan karane se jis mahan phal ki praphti huee, usaka apane mujhase varnan kiya. nishsandeh yah sab thik hai. parantu sabhi yajnoan mean yah uttam nishhchay kaise karyanhvit kiya ja sakata hai. dvijashreshhth! is vishay ka mujhase poornat: pratipadan kijiye.

rajarshe! deveshhvar inhdr ne shvayan akar brihashpati ko age karake agashthy rrishi ko manaya. tadananhtar yajn samapht hone par athyanht prasanhn hue agashthy ji ne un mahamuniyoan ki vidhivat pooja karake sabako vida kar diya.
janamejay ne poochha– mune! sone ke mashtak se yukht vah nevala kaun tha, jo manushhyoan ki – si boli bolata tha ? mere is prashhn ka mujhe uthtar dijiye.
janamejay ka nevale ke vishay mean janane ka anurodh
vaishamhpayan ji ne kaha– rajan! yah bat n to tumane pahale poochhi thi aur n maianne batayi thi. ab poochhate ho to suno. vah nakul kaun tha aur usaki manushhyoan ki– si boli kaise huee, yah sab bata raha hooan. poorvakal ki bat hai, ek din jamadaghni rrishi ne shraddh karane ka sankalhp kiya. us samay unaki homadhenoo shvayan hi unake pas ayi aur muni ne shvayan hi usaka doodh duha. us doodh ko unhhoanne naye patr mean, jo sudridh aur pavitr tha, rakh diya. us patr mean dharm ne krodh ka roop dharan karake pravesh kiya. dharm un munishreshhth ki pariksha lena chahate the. unhhoanne socha, dekhooan to ye apriy karane par khya karate haian? isiliye unhhoanne us doodh ko krodh ke shparsh se dooshit kar diya. rajan! muni ne us krodh ko pahachan liya; kinhtu us par ve kupit nahian hue. tab krodh ne brahman ka roop dharan kiya. muni ke dvara parajit hone par us amarshashil krodh ne un bhrigushreshhth se kaha- ‘bhrigushreshhth! maian to parajit ho gaya. maianne suna tha ki bhriguvanshi brahman b de krodhi hote haian ; parantu lok mean prachalit hua yah pravad aj mithhya siddh ho gaya; khyoanki apane mujhe jit liya. ‘prabho! aj maian apake vash mean hooan. apaki tapashya se darata hooan. sadhoan! ap kshamashil mahathma haian, mujh par kripa kijiye’. jamadaghni bole– krodh! maianne tumhhean prathyaksh dekha hai. tum nishhchinht hokar yahaan se jao. tumane mera koee aparadh nahian kiya hai; at: aj tum par mera rosh nahian hai. maianne jin pitaroan ke uddeshhy se is doodh ka sankalhp kiya tha, ve mahabhag pitar hi usake shvami haian. jao, unhhian se is vishay mean samajho. muni ke aisa kahane par krodharoopadhari dharm bhayabhit ho vahaan se adrishhy ho gaye aur pitaroan ke shap se unhhean nevala hona p da. is shap ka anht hone ke uddeshhy se unhhoanne pitaroan ko prasanhn kiya. tab pitaroan ne kaha– ‘tum dharmaraj yudhishhthir par akshep karake is shap se chhutakara pa jaoge’. unhhoanne hi is nevale ko yajn samhbanhdhishthan aur dharmaranhy ka pata bataya tha. vah dharmaraj ki ninhda ke uddeshhy se dau data hua us yajn mean ja pahuancha tha. dharmaputr yudhishhthir par akshep karate hue serabhar sathtoo ke dan ka mahathmhy batakar krodharoopi dharm shap se mukht ho gaya aur vah dharmaraj yudhishhthir mean shthit ho gaya. is prakar mahathma yudhishhthir ka yajn samapht hone par yah ghatana ghati thi aur vah nevala ham logoan ke dekhate– dekhate vahaan se gayab ho gaya tha.[9]
