vedajn brahman ko chahiye ki vah raja ke nikat apani avashh‍yakata nivedan n kare; kyoanki brahman ki apani shakti tatha raja ki shakti mean se usaki apani hi shakti prabal hai. at: brahmavadiyoan ka tej raja ke liye sada du:sah hai. brahman is jagat ka karta, shasak, dharan-poshan karane vala aur devata kahalata hai. at: usake prati amangalasoochak bat n kahe. rookhe vachan n bole. kshatriy apane bahubal se, vaishh‍y aur shoodr dhan ke bal se tatha brahman manh‍tr evan havan ki shakti se apani vipatti se par ho sakata hai. n kanh‍ya, n yuvati, n manh‍tr n janane vala, n moorkh aur n sansh‍kar hin purush hi agni mean havan karane ka adhikari hai. yadi ye havan karate haian to sh‍vayan to narak mean p datean hi hai, jisaka vah yajn hai, vah bhi narak mean girata hai. at: jo yajn karm mean kushal aur vedoan ka parangat vidvan ho, vahi hota ho sakata hai. jo agnihotr aramh‍bh karake prajapati devata ke liye ashh‍varoop dakshina ka dan nahian karata, dharmadarshi purush use anahitagni kahate[3] haian. manushh‍y jo bhi punh‍yakarm kare use shraddhapoorvak aur jitendriy bhav se kare. paryaph‍t dakshina diye bina kisi tarah yajn n kare. bina dakshina ka yajn praja aur pashu ka nash karata hai aur sh‍varg ki prapti mean bhi vighn dal deta hai. itana hi nahian vah indriy, yash, kirti tatha ayu ko bhi kshin karata hai. jo brahman rajash‍vala stri ke sath samagam karate haian, jinh‍hone ghar mean agni ki sh‍thapana nahian ki hai, tatha jo avaidik riti se havan karate hai, ve sabhi papachari hai. jis gaanv mean ek hi kuean ka pani sab log pite haian, vahaan barah varshoan tak nivas karane se tatha shoodrajati ki stri ke sath vivah kar lene se brahman bhi shudr ho jata hai. yadi brahman apani path‍ni ke siva doosari stri ko shh‍yh‍yapar bitha le athava b de-boodhe़ shoodr ko ya brahmanetar-kshatriy ya vaishh‍y ko samh‍man deta hua ooanche asan par baithakar sh‍vayan chataee par baithe to vah brahmanath‍v se gir jata hai. rajan! usaki shuddhi jis prakar hoti hai, vah mujhase suno.

brahmanoan ki shuddhi

yadi brahman ek rat bhi kisi nich varn ke manushh‍y ki seva kare athava usake sath ek jagah rahe ya ek asan par baithe to isase jo pap lagata hai, usako vah tin varshoan tak vrat ka palan karate hue prithh‍vi par vicharane se door sakata hai.[2] rajan! parihas mean, stri ke pas, vivah ke avasar par, guru ke hit ke liye athava apane pran bachane ke uddeshy se bola gaya asaty hanikarak nahian hota. in paanch avasaroan par asaty bolana pap nahian bataya gaya hai. nich varn ke purush ke pas bhi uth‍tam vidya ho to use shraddhapoorvak grahan karana chahiye aur sona apavitr sh‍than mean bhi p da ho to use bina hichakichahat ke utha lena chahiye. nich kul se bhi uth‍tam sh‍tri ko grahan kar le, vish ke sh‍than se bhi amrit mile to use pi le; kh‍yoki striyaan, rath‍n aur jal- ye dharmat: dooshaniy nahian hote haian. gau aur brahmanoan ka hit, varn sankarata ka nivaran tatha apani raksha karane ke liye vaishh‍y bhi hathiyar utha sakata hai. madirapan, brahmahath‍ya tatha gurupath‍nigaman- in mahapapoan se chhootane ke liye koee prayashchit nahian bataya gaya hai. kisi bhi upay se apane pranoan ka aant kar dena hi un papoan ka prayashchit hoga, aisi vidvanoan ki dharana hai.[4]

suvarn ki chori, anh‍y vash‍tuoan ki chori tatha brahman ka dhan chhin lena-yah mahan pap hai. maharaj! madirapan aur agamh‍ya stri ke sath gaman karane se, patitoan ke sath samh‍park rakhane se tatha brahmanetar hokar brahmani ke sath samagam karane se sh‍vechh‍chhachari purush shighr hi patit ho jata he. patit ke sath rahane se, usaka yajn karane se aur use padha़nean se manushh‍y ek varsh mean pati‍t ho jata hai; parantu usaki santan ke sath apani santan ka vivah karane se, ek savari ya ek asan par baithane se tatha usake sath mean bhojan karane se vah ek varsh mean nahian, kiantu tatkal pati‍t ho jata hai. bharatanandan! uparyukh‍t pap anirdeshh‍y (prayashchitarahit) kahe gaye haian. inhean chho dakar aur jitane pap haian, ve nirdeshh‍y haian- shastr mean unaka prayashchit bataya gaya hai. usake anusar prayashchit karake pap ka vyasan chho d dena chahiye. poorvokh‍t (sharabi, brahmahatyara aur gurupatnigami) tin papiyoan ke marane par unaki dahadiy kriya kiye bina hi kutumh‍bijanoan ko unake ann aur dhan par adhikar kar lena chahiye. isamean kuchh anh‍yatha vichar karane ki avashh‍yakata nahian hai. dharmik raja apane mantri aur gurujanoan ko bhi pati‍t ho jane par dharmanusar tyag de aur jab tak ye apane papoan ka prayashchit n kar lean, tab tak inake sath batachit n kare. papachari manushh‍y yadi dharmacharan aur tapasya kare to apane pap ko nasht kar deta hai. chor ko ‘yah chor hai’ aisa kah dene matr se chor ke barabar pap ka bhagi hona p data hai. jo chor nahian hai, usako chor kah dene se manushh‍y ko chor se doona pap lagata hai. kumari kanya yadi apani ichchha se charitrabhrasht ho jay to use brahmahatya ka tin chauthaee pap bhogana p data hai. aur jo use kalankit karane vala purush hai, vah shesh ek chauthaee pap ka bhagi hota hai. is jagat mean brahmanoan ko gali dekar ya unhean tiraskarapoorvak dhakke dekar hatane se manushh‍y ko bada़ bhari pap lagata hai. sau varshoan tak to use pret ki bhaanti bhatakana p data hai, kahian bhi thaharane ke liye thaur nahian milata. phir ek hajar varshoan tak use narak mean girakar rahana p data hai.[4]

shuddhi ke upay

at: n brahman ko gali de aur n use kabhi dharati par girave. rajan! brahman ke sharir mean ghav ho jane par usase nikala hua rakt dhool ke jitane kanoan ko bhigota hai, use chot pahuanchane vala manushh‍y utane hi varshoan tak narak mean pada़ rahata hai. garbh ke bachche ki hatya karane vala yadi yuddh mean shastroan ke aghat se mar jay to usaki shuddhi ho jati hai athava prajvalit agni mean koodakar apane apako hom de to vah shuddh ho jata hai. madira pine vala purush yadi madira ko khoob garm karake pi le to pap se chhutakara pa jata hai, athava usase sharir jal jane ke karan usaki mrityu ho jay to vah shuddh ho jata hai. is prakar shuddh ho jane par hi vah brahman shuddh lokoan ko praph‍t kar sakata hai, anyatha nahian. papapoorn vichar rakhane vala duratma purush yadi guru patni-gaman ka pap kar baithe to vah lohe ki garam ki huee nari-pratima ka aliangan karake pran de dene par hi us pap se shuddh hota hai. athava apane shishh‍n aur anh‍dakosh ko svayan hi katakar anjali mean lekar sidhe nairhrrity disha ki or jata hua gir p de ya brahman ke liye pranoan ka parityag kar de to shuddh ho jata hai. athava ashh‍vamedh yajn, gosav namak yajn ya agnishtom yajn ke dvara bhalibhaanti yajan karake vah ihalok tatha paralok mean poojit hota hai. brahmahath‍ya karane vala manushh‍y us mare hue brahman ki khopadi़ lekar apana papakarm logoan ko sunata rahe aur barah varshoan tak brahmachary ka palan karate hue sabere, sham aur dopahar tinoan samay snan kare. is prakar vah tapasya mean sanlagh‍n rahe. isase usaki shuddhi ho jati hai.[5]

isi tarah jo jan-boojhakar garbhini stri ki hatya karata hai; use us garbhini-vadh ke karan do brahm hatyaoan ka pap lagata hai. madira pine vala manushh‍y mitahari aur brahmachari hokar prithh‍vi par shayan kare. is tarah tin varshoan tak rahane ke bad ‘agnishtom’ yajn kare. tatpashh‍chat ek hajar bail ya itani hi gauean brahmanoan ko dan de to vah shuddh ho jata hai. yadi vaishh‍v ki hatya kar de to do varshoan tak poorvokh‍t niyam se rahane ke bad ek sau bail aur ek sau gauoan ka dan kare, tatha shoodr ki hatya kar dene par hatyare ko ek varsh tak poorvokh‍t niyam se rahakar ek bail aur sau gauoan ka dan karana chahiye. kuth‍te, suar aur gadahoan ki hath‍ya karake manushh‍y shoodravadh-sambandhi vrat ka hi acharan kare. rajan! billi, nilakanh‍th, medhak, kaua, saanp aur chooha adi praniyoan ko marane se bhi ukh‍t pashu vadh ke hi saman pap bataya gaya hai.

doosare prakar ke prayashchit ka varnan

ab doosare prayashchitoan ka bhi kramash: varnan karata hooan. anajan mean ki doan-mako doan ka vadh adi chhota pap ho jay to usake liye pashh‍chatap kare. itane hi se usaki shuddhi ho jati hai. gau vadh ke siva any jitane up patak haian unamean se pratyek ke liye ek-ek varsh tak vrat ka acharan kare. shrotriy ki patni se vyabhichar karane par tin varsh tak aur any parastriyoan se samagam karane par do varshoan tak brahmachary vrat ka palan karate hue din ke chauthe pahar mean ek bar bhojan kare. apane liye prithak sthan aur asan ki vyavastha rakhate hue ghoomata rahe. din mean tin bar jal se snan kare. aisa karane se hi vah apane uparyukt papoan ka nivaran kar sakata hai. jo agni ko bhrasht karata hai, usake liye bhi yahi prayashchit hai.[5] jo apane shreshth pati ko chho dakar any papi ki shayya par jati hai, us kulata ko atyant vistrit maidan mean khadi़ karake raja kuth‍toan se nochava dale. isi tarah vyabhichari purush ko buddhiman raja lohe ki tapayi huee khat par sulakar oopar se lakadi़ rakh de aur ag laga de, jisase vah papi usi mean jalakar bhasm ho jay. maharaj! pati ki avahelana karake par purushoan se vyabhichar karane vali striyoan ke liye bhi yahi danh‍d hai, uparyukh‍t kahe hue mean jin dushtoan ke liye prayashchit bataya hai, unake liye yah bhi vidhan hai ki ek varsh ke bhitar prayashchit n karane par dusht purush ko doona danh‍d praph‍t hona chahiye. jo manushh‍y do, tin, char ya paanch varshoan tak us patit purush ke sansarg mean rahean, vah munijanochit vrat dharan karake utane hi varshoan tak prithh‍vi par ghoomata hua bhikshavritti se jivan-nirvah kare.[6]

jyeshh‍th bhaee ka vivah hone se pahale hi yadi chhota bhaee adharmapoorvak vivah kar le to jyeshh‍th ko ‘parivitti’ kahate haian; chhote bhaee ko ‘parivetta’ kahate haian aur usaki patni ko jisaka parivedan (grahan) kiya jata hai, parivedaniya kahate haian- ye sab-ke-sab pati‍t mane gaye haian. in tinoan ko pri‍thak-prithak apani shuddhi ke liye usi vrat ka acharan karana chahiye jo yajnahin brahman ke liye bataya gaya hai. athava ek mas tak chandrayan ya krichchhrachandrayan vrat kare. parivetta purush us navavadhoo ko patohoo ke roop mean jyeshh‍th bhaee ko sauanp de aur jyeshh‍th bhaee ki ajna milane par chhota bhaee use patniroop mean grahan karean. aisa karane par ve tinoan dharm ke anusar pap se chhutakara pate haian. pashu jatiyoan mean gauoan ko chho dakar any kisi ki anajan mean hiansa ho jay to vah doshavah nahian mani jati; kyoanki manushh‍y ko pashuoan ka adhishthata evan palak mana gaya hai. go vadh karane vala papi us gay ki pooanchh ko is prakar dharan kare ki usaka bal oopar ki or rahe. phir mitti ka patr hath mean lekar pratidin sat gharoan mean bhiksha maange aur apane papakarm ki bat kahakar logoan ko sunata rahe. unhian sat gharoan ki bhiksha mean jo ann mil jay, vahi khakar rahe. aisa karane se vah barah dinoan mean shuddh ho jata hai. yadi pap adhik ho to ek varsh tak us vrat ka anushh‍than kare, jisase vah apane pap ko nasht kar deta hai. is prakar manushh‍yoan ke liye param uth‍tam prayashchit ka vidhan hai. unamean jo dan karane mean samarth hoan, unake liye dan ki bhi vidhi hai. yah sab prayashchit vichar poorvak karana chahiye. anastik poorooshoan ke liye ek godanamatr hi prayashchit batalaya gaya hai. kuth‍te, sooar, manushh‍y, murge aur gadahe ke maans aur mal-mootr kha lene par dvij ka pun: sanskar hona chahiye. somapan karane vala brahman yadi kisi sharabi ki gandh bhi sooangh le to vah tin dinoan tak garam jal pikar rahe, phir tin din garam doodh piye. tin din garam doodh pine ke bad tin din tak keval vayu pikar rahe. isase vah shuddh ho jata hai. is prakar yah sanatan prayashchit sab ke liye bataya gaya hai. brahman ke liye isaka vishesharoop se vidhan hai. anajan mean jo pap ban jay, usi ke liye prayashchit hai.[6]
