kanhaee ki varshagaanth hai. is janmadin ka adhikaansh sanskar poorn ho chuka hai. maharshi shandily vipravarg ke sath poojan-yajnadi sampann karake, satkrit hokar ja chuke haian. gop evan gopiyoan ne apane upahar vrajanavayuvaraj ko de diye haian. ab sakhaoan ki bari hai. kanhaee ke sakha bhi upahar deange; kiantu ye gopakumar to apane anuroop hi upahar dene vale haian. ratnabharan, maniyaan, bahumooly vastr, nana prakar ke khilaune to b de gop, gopiyaan-doorasth goshthoan ke gop bhi late haian; kiantu gopakumaroan ka upahar in sabase bhinn hai. ‘kanoo! maian bhi tujhe tika lagaooanga.’ yah aya bhadr. yah shyam ke janmadin par sada aise hi ata hai- ‘mere samip to kuchh hai nahian; teri hi kamada ke gobar ka tika laga dooan tujhe?’

‘sach! laga!’ ab yah nandanandan to mano harsh se vibhor ho utha hai. ise lagata hai ki itani mahattvapoorn bat maharshi shandily tak ko smaran nahian ayi aur usaka bhadr kitana buddhiman hai. bhala, gopakumar ka tilak gomay ke bina kaise sampoorn ho sakata hai? aj kanhaee sir se charanoan tak navin ratnabharanoan se sajjit hai. alakoan mean anek rangoan ke ratn-maniyoan ki mala hai. ratn-khachit nanha-sa mukut hai. bhal par kesar ki khaur ke madhy maharshi ke dvara lagaya kuankum-tilak hai, jis par akshat lage haian. bhadr ne akshatoan ke niche thik bhroomadhy mean apani anamika se ek chhota bindu gobar ka laga diya.

‘baba! yah sab bhool hi gaye the.’ krishn ab baba, taoo, chacha aur maiya sabako dau da-dau da dikhala raha hai- bhadr ne lagaya hai- mere bhadr ne. ab yah kram to chal p da. tok kahian se ek tirangi ganja laya hai- shvet, krishn aur arun tinoan rang saman haian isamean tatha kanhaee use kar par rakhe sabako dikhalata ghoom raha hai. isake netr, isaka ullas bhara svar kahata hai- ‘aisi adbhut vastu hai kahian kisi ke samip? koee ratn isaki tulana karane yogy hai?’ koee nanha mayoorapichchh laya hai aur koee tin-char chhote kisalay. subal kahian se paanch rangoan se aankit shvet pundarik pa gaya hai. sab phal, pushp, patte ya pichchh hi laye haian, kintu kanhaee to ek-ek sakha ka upahar pakar aisa ullasit hota hai, aisa uchhalata aur sabako dikhane dau data hai jaise tribhuvan ka durlabhatam ratn ise mil gaya ho.
