chanchalan hi manah krishn pramathi balavaddridhamh.
tasyahan nigrahan manye vayoriv sudushkaramh॥[1]

he krishn! chooanki man chanchal (asthir), uchchhriankhal, hathila tatha atyant balavan hai, atah mujhe ise vash mean karana vayu ko vash mean karane se bhi adhik kathin lagata hai.

man itana balavanh tatha duragrahi hai ki kabhi-kabhi yah buddhi ka ullanghan kar deta hai, yadyapi use buddhi ke adhin mana jata hai. is vyavahar-jagat mean jahaan manushy ko anek virodhi tattvoan se sangharsh karana hota hai, usake lie man ko vash mean kar pana atyant kathin ho jata hai. kritrim roop mean manushy apane mitr tatha shatru donoan ke prati manasik santulan sthapit kar sakata hai, kintu aantim roop mean koee bhi sansari purush aisa nahian kar pata, kyoanki aisa kar pana vegavan vayu ko vash mean karane se bhi kathin hai. vaidik sahity [2] mean kaha gaya hai –

atmanan rathinan viddhi shariran rathamev ch
buddhian tu sarathian viddhi manah pragrahamev ch.
indriyani hayanahurvishayaansteshu gocharanh
atmendriyamanoyuktan bhoktetyahurmanishinah॥

“pratyek vyakti is bhautik sharir roopi rath par aroodh hai aur buddhi isaka sarathi hai. man lagam hai aur indriyaan gho de haian. is prakar man tatha indriyoan ki sangati se yah atma sukh tatha duahkh ka bhokta hai. aisa b de-b de chintakoan ka kahana hai.” yadyapi buddhi ko man ka niyantran karana chahie, kintu man itana prabal tatha hathi hai ki ise apani buddhi se bhi jit pana kathin ho jata hai jis prakar ki achchhi se achchhi dava dvara kabhi-kabhi rog vash mean nahian ho pata. aise prabal man ko yogabhyas dvara vash mean kiya ja sakata hai, kintu aisa abhyas kar pana arjun jaise sansari vyakti ke lie kabhi bhi vyavaharik nahian hota. to phir adhunik manushy ke sambandh mean kya kaha jay? yahaan par prayukt upama atyant upayukt hai– jhanjhavat ko rok pana kathin hota hai aur uchchhriankhal man ko rok pana to aur bhi kathin hai. man ko vahas mean rakhane ka saralatam upay, jise bhagavanh chaitany ne sujhaya hai, yah hai ki samast dainyata ke sath moksh le lie “hare krishn” mahamantr ka kirtan kiya jaye. vidhi yah hai– s vai manah krishn padaravindayoah – manushy ko chahie ki vah apane man ko poornataya krishn mean lagae. tabhi man ko vichalit karane ke lie any vyastataean shesh nahian rah jaeangi.
