mahan rrishi yajnavalky ne brahmachary ke niyamoan mean bataya hai –

karmana manasa vacha sarvavasthasu sarvada.
sarvatr maithunatyago brahmacharyan prachakshate॥

“sabhi kaloan mean, sabhi avasthaoan mean tatha sabhi sthanoan mean manasa vacha karmana maithun-bhog se poornataya door rahane mean sahayata karana hi brahmacharyavrat ka lakshy hai.” maithun mean pravritt rahakar yogabhyas nahian kiya ja sakata. isilie bachapan se jab maithun ka koee jnan bhi nahian hota brahmachary ki shiksha di jati hai. paanch varsh ki ayu mean bachchoan ko gurukul bheja jata hai, jahaan guru unhean brahmachari banane ke dridh niyamoan ki shiksha deta hai. aise abhyas ke bina kisi bhi yog mean unnati nahian ki ja sakati, chahe vah dhyan ho, ya ki jnan ya bhakti. kintu jo vyakti vivahit jivan ke vidhi-vidhanoan ka palan karata hai aur apani patni se maithun-sambandh rakhata hai vah bhi brahmachari kahalata hai. aise sanyamashil brahmachari ko bhakti sampraday mean svikar kiya ja sakata hai, kintu jnan tatha dhyan sampraday vale aise grihasth-brahmachari ko bhi pravesh nahian dete. unake lie poorn brahmachary anivary hai. bhakti sampraday mean grihasth-brahmachari ko sanyamit maithun ki anumati rahati hai, kyoanki bhakti sampraday itana shaktishali hai ki bhagavan ki seva mean lage rahane se vah svatah hi maithun ka akarshan tyag deta hai.

bhagavadgita mean[1]kaha gaya hai –

vishaya vinivartante niraharasy dehinah.
rasavarjan rasoapyasy param drishtva nivartate॥

jahaan anyoan ko vishayabhog se door rahane ke lie badhy kiya jata hai vahian bhagavadbhakt bhagavadrasasvadan ke karan indriyatripti se svatah virakt ho jata hai. bhakt ko chho dakar any kisi ko is anupam ras ka jnan nahian hota.

vigat-bhiah poorn krishnabhavanabhavit hue bina manushy nirbhay nahian ho sakata. baddhajiv apani vikrit smriti athava krishn ke sath apane shashvat sambandh ki vismriti ke karan bhayabhit rahata hai. bhagavat mean[2] kathan hai– bhayan dvitiyabhiniveshatah syadh eeshadapetasy viparyayoasmritiah. krishnabhavanabhavit vyakti hi yog ka poorn abhyas kar sakata hai aur chooanki yogabhyas ka charam lakshy antahkaran mean bhagavan ka darshan pana hai, atah krishnabhavanabhavit vyakti pahale se hi samast yogiyoan se shreshth hota hai. yahaan par varnit yogavidhi ke niyam tathakathit lokapriy yog-samitiyoan se bhinn haian.
