'shrimadbhagavat mahapuran'[1] ke anusar- raja parikshit ne poochha- "bhagavan! hamane suna hai ki bhagavan shrikrishn ne bhishmak nandini paramasundari rukmini devi ko balapoorvak haran karake rakshasavidhi se unake sath vivah kiya tha. maharaj! ab maian yah sunana chahata hooan ki param tejasvi bhagavan shrikrishn ne jarasandh, shalv adi narapatiyoan ko jitakar kis prakar rukmini ka haran kiya? brahmarshe! bhagavan shrikrishn ki lilaoan ke sambandh mean kya kahana hai? ve svayan to pavitr haian hi, sare jagat ka mal dho-bahakar use bhi pavitr kar dene vali haian. unamean aisi lokottar madhuri hai, jise din-rat sevan karate rahane par bhi nity naya-naya ras milata rahata hai. bhala aisa kaun rasik, kaun marmajn hai, jo unhean sunakar tript n ho jay.

brahman-devata ne kaha- "yaduvanshashiromane! yahi rukmini ke atyant gopaniy sandesh haian, jinhean lekar maian apake pas aya hooan. isake sambandh mean jo kuchh karana ho, vichar kar lijiye aur turant hi usake anusar kary kijiye."
