(11) kya yah katha kalpit hai?
bahut se puratattvajnoan ne yah sammati sthir ki hai ki mahabharat ki katha kalpit hai aur isaki ghatanaean yatharth nahian haian. bahut-se vidvan is yuddh ko to yatharth par usake nayakoan ko kalpit manate haian.[1] hamari ray mean ye donoan kathan mithya haian, jisake praman ye haian-
(1) krishn aur arjun ki vanshavali ka poora-poora pata chalata hai. unake vansh mean anek raja-maharaja hue haian jinhoanne aitihasik samay mean rajy kiya hai.

(3) katha aur katha se sanbandh rakhane valoan ke nam sarvasadharan mean prasiddh haian tatha desh ke un prantoan mean bhi vidit haian jahaan sahasroan varsh se padhane-likhane ka chihn nahian paya jata. phir katha sanbandhi purushoan ke nam se prayah sthanoan ke bhi nam milate haian. yadi nam kalpit hote to aisa kadapi sanbhav n tha.
(4) mahabharat katha ke jo anek sandarbh sanskrit sahity mean paye jate haian unase bhi katha ki bahut-si ghatanaoan ki pushti hoti hai.
(5) yadi is katha ko yatharth manean to katha sanbandhi namoan ka kalpit manane ka koee vishesh karan nahian dikh p data, tatha usamean yah bhi prashn uthata hai, ki yadi ye nam kalpit haian to katha ke yatharth nayakoan ke nam kya the?
(6) krishn ko avatar ke tuly mana jana is bat ki pushti karata hai ki krishn kisi kalpit vyakti ka nam nahian tha.
(7) hamare vipakshi apane is kathan ke samarthan mean koee praman nahian dete. koee granthakar to is bat ka sahara lete haian ki prachin aryavart mean ek stri ke kee pati hone ki pratha n thi evan draupadi ka paanch pandavoan se vivah karana ek atyukti hai, jo yatharth ghatana nahian hai. parantu mahabharat ke padhane valoan ko maloom hai ki granthakar ne is ghatana ko apavad[3] ke roop mean varnan kiya hai aur isake lie karan vishesh dikhalaya hai.[4] punah aise prabal pramanoan ke upasthit rahate hue kuchh mahanubhavoan ki yah ray pramanit nahian kahi ja sakati aur n ham krishn tatha arjun prabhuti namoan ko kalpit man sakate haian.
