saty ke lakshan, svaroop aur mahima ka varnan

yudhishthir ne poochha- pitamah! brahman, rrishi, pitar aur devata- ye sab sath‍yabhashanaroop dharm ki prashasa karate haian; at: ab maian yah sunana chahata hooan ki sath‍y kh‍ya hai? use mujhe bataiye. rajan! sath‍y ka lakshan kh‍ya hai? usaki prapti kaise hoti hai? sath‍y ka palan karane se kh‍ya labh hota hai? aur kaise hota hai? yah bataiye.

bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- bharatanandan! brahman adi charoan varnoan ke jo dharm haian, unaka parash‍par sammishran achh‍chha nahian mana jata hai. nirvikar sath‍y sabhi varnoan mean pratishthit hai. sath‍purushoan mean sada sath‍yaroop dharm ka palan hua hai. sath‍y hi sanatan dharm hai. sath‍y ko hi sada sir jhukana chahiye; kh‍yoanki sath‍y hi jiv ki param gati hai. sath‍y hi dharm, tap aur yog hai, sath‍y hi sanatan brahm hai, sath‍y ko hi param yajn kaha gaya hai tatha sab kuchh sath‍y par hi tika hua hai. ab maian tumh‍hean kramash: sath‍y ke achar aur lakshan thik-thik bataooanga. sath hi yah bhi bata dena chahata hooan ki us sath‍y ki prapti kaise hoti hai? tum dhh‍yan dekar suno.

bharat! samh‍poorn lokoan mean sath‍y ke terah bhed mane gaye haian. rajenh‍dr! sath‍y, samata, dam, math‍sarata ka abhav, kshama, lajh‍ja, titiksha (sahanashilata), anasooya, th‍yag, paramatma ka dhh‍yan, aryata (shreshth acharan), nianratar sthir rahane vali dhriti (dhairy) tatha aanhisa- ye terah sath‍y ke roop hi sh‍varoop haian, isamean sanshay nahian hai. nith‍y ekaras, avinashi aur avikari hona hi sath‍y ka lakshan hai. samash‍t dharmoan ke anukool kartavh‍y-palanaroop yog ke dvara is sath‍y ki prapti hoti hai. apane priy mitr mean tatha apriy shatru mean bhi samanabhav rakhana ‘samata’ hai. ichh‍chha (rag), dvesh, kam aur krodh ko mita dena hi samata ki prapti ka upay hai. kisi doosare ki vash‍tu ko lene ki ichh‍chha n karana, sada gamh‍bhirata aur dhirata rakhana, bhay ko th‍yag dena tatha man ke rogoan ko shant kar dena- yah ‘dam’ (man aur indriyoan ke sanyam) ka lakshan hai. isaki prapti jnan se hoti hai. dan aur dharm karate samay man par sanyam rakhana arthat is vishay mean doosaroan se eershh‍ya n karana ise vidvan log ‘math‍sarata ka abhav’ kahate haian. sada sath‍y ka palan karane se hi manushh‍y math‍sarata se rahit ho sakata hai.

jo sahane aur n sahane yogh‍y vh‍yavaharoan tatha priy evan apriy vachanoan ko bhi saman roop se sahan kar leta hai, vahi sarvasamh‍mat kshamashil shreshth purush hai. sath‍yavadi purush ko hi uth‍tam riti se kshamabhav ki prapti hoti hai. jo buddhiman purush bhalibhaanti doosaroan ka kalh‍yan karata hai aur man mean kabhi khed nahian manata, jisaki man-vani sada shaant rahati hai, vah lajh‍jashil mana jata hai. yah lajh‍ja namak gun dharm ke acharan se praph‍t hota hai. dharm aur arth ke liye manushh‍y jo kasht sahan karata hai, usaki vah sahanashilata ’titiksha’ kahalati hai. logoan ke samane adarsh upasthit karane ke liye usaka avashh‍y palan karana chahiye. titiksha ki prapti dhairy se hoti hai. (doosaroan ke dosh n dekhana ‘anasooya’ hai)
