yudhishthir ne kaha- nagaraj! jisamean saty, dan, kshama, sushilata, kroorata ka abhav, tapasya aur daya-ye sadgun dikhayi dete haian, vahi brahman kaha gaya hai. sarp! janane yogy tattv to param brahm hi hai, jo duahkh aur sukh se pare hai tatha jahaan pahuanchakar athava jise janakar manushy shok ke par ho jata hai. batao, tumhean ab is vishay mean kya kahana hai?

sarp bola- yudhishthir! saty evan pramanabhoot brahma to charoan varnoan ke liye hitakar hai. saty, dan, akrodh, kroorata ka abhav, ahiansa aur daya adi sadgun to shoodroan mean bhi rahate haian. nareshvar! tumane yahaan jo janane yogy tattv ko duahkh aur sukh se pare bataya hai, so duahkh aur sukh se rahit kisi doosari vastu ki satta hi maian nahian dekhata hooan.

yudhishthir ne kaha- yadi shoodr mean saty adi uparyukt lakshan haian aur brahman mean nahian haian to vah shoodr shoodr nahian hai aur vah brahman brahman nahian hai. sarp! jisamean ye saty adi lakshan maujood hoan, vah brahman mana gaya hai aur jisamean in lakshanoan ka abhav ho, use shoodr kahana chahiye. ab tumane jo yah kaha ki sukh-duahkh se rahit koee doosara vedy tattv hai hi nahian, so tumhara yah mat thik hai. sukh-duahkh se shoony koee padarth nahian hai, kiantu ek aisa pad hai bhi. jis prakar barph mean ushnata aur agni mean shitalata kahian nahian rahati, usi prakar jo vedy-pad hai, vah vastav mean sukh-duahkh se rahit hi hai. nagaraj! mera to yahi vichar hai, phir ap jaisa manean.

sarp bola- ayushmanh nerash! yadi achar se hi brahman ki pariksha ki jaye, tab to jab tak usake anusar karm n ho jati vyarth hi hai.

yudhishthir ne kaha- mahasarp! mahamate! manushyoan mean jati ki pariksha karana bahut hi kathin hai; kyoanki is samay sabhi varnoan ka paraspar sankar (sammishran) ho raha hai, aisa mera vichar hai. sabhi manushy sada sab jatiyoan ki striyoan se santan utpann kar rahe haian. vani, maithun tatha janm aur maran-ye sab manushyoan mean ek se dekhe jate haian. is vishay mean yah arshapraman bhi milata hai- 'ye yajamahe' yah shruti jati ka nishchay n hone ke karan hi jo ham log yajn kar rahe haian; aisa samany roop se nirdesh karati hai. isaliye jo tattvadarshi vidvanh haian, ve shil ko hi pradhanata dete haian aur use hi abhisht manate haian. jab balak ka janm hota hai, tab nalachchhedan ke poorv usaka jatakarm-sanskar kiya jata hai. usamean usaki mata savitri kahalati hai aur pita achary. jab tak balak ka sanskar karake use ved ka svadhyay n karaya jaye, tab tak vah shoodr hi ke saman hai. jati vishayak sandeh hone par svayambhuv manu ne yahi nirnay diya hai.

nagaraj! yadi vaidik sanskar karake vedadhyayan karane par bhi brahmanadi varnoan mean apekshit shil aur sadachar ka uday nahian hua to usamean prabal varn sankarata hai, aisa vicharapoorvak nishchay kiya gaya hai. mahasarp! bhujangamapravar! is samay jisamean sanskar ke sath-sath sadachar ki upalabdhi ho, vahi brahman hai. yah bat maian pahale hi bata chuka hooan.

sarp bola- yudhishthir! tum janane yogy sabhi batean janate ho. maianne tumhari bat achchhi tarah sun li. ab maian tumhare bhaee bhimasen ko kaise kha sakata hooan?
