dhritarashhtr ke prati vidur ji ka hitopadesh
- viduraji kahate haian- rajenhdr! vichitraviryanandan! shvayamhbhuv manu ne in satrah prakar ke purushoan ko akash par mukhkoan se prahar karane vale, n jhukaye ja sakane vale, varsha kalin inhdradhanush ko jhukane ki cheshhta karane vale tatha pak d mean n ane vali soory ki kiranoan ko pak dane ka prayas karane vale, batalaya hai [1] (1-2)

- jo manushhy apane sath jaisa bartav kare,usake sath vesa hi bartav karana chahiye- yahi nitidharm hai. kapat ka acharan karane vale ke sath kapatapoorn bartav kare aur achhchha bartav karane vale ke sath sadhubhav se hi bartav karana chahiye. (7)
- budhapa roop ka, asha dhairy ka, mrityu pranoan ki, doosaroan ke gunoan mean doshadrishti dharmacharan ka, kam lajhja ka, nich purushoan ki seva sadachar ka, krodh lakshhmi ka aur abhiman sarvashv ka hi nash kar deta hai. (8)

- bharat! jo apane oopar vishvas karane vale purush ki shtri ke sath samagam karata hai, jo gurushtrigami hai, brahman hokar shoodra shtri ke sath vivah karata hai, sharab pita hai tatha jo brahman par adesh chalane vala, brahmanoan ki jivika nashht karane vala, brahmanoan ko seva kary ke liye idhar-udhar bhejane vala aur sharanagat ki hiansa karane vala hai- ye sabake sab brahm hathyare ke saman haian; inaka sang ho jane par prayashchit kare- yah vedoan ki ajna hai. (12-13)
- b doan ki ajna manane vala, nitijn, data, yajnashesh anhn ka bhojan karane vala, hiansa rahit, anarthapoorn karyoan se door rahane vala, kritajn, sathyavadi aur komal shvabhav vala vidvan shvargagami hota hai. (14)
- rajan! sada priy vachan bolane vale manushhy to sahaj mean hi mil sakate haian; kiantu jo apriy hua hitakari ho, aise vachan ke vakhta aur shrota donoan hi durlabh haian. (15)
