mahabharat: udyog parv: ashhtashashhtayadhikashatatam adhyay: shlok 1-17 ka hindi anuvad
kaurav paksh ke rathiyoan aur atirathiyoan ka varnan, karn aur bhishhm ka roshapoorvak sanvad tatha duryodhan dvara usaka nivaran
- bhishhm kahate haian- achal aur vrishak- ye sath rahane vale donoan bhaee durdharsh rathi haian, jo tumhhare shatruoan ka vidhhvans kar daleange. (1)
- ganhdharadesh ke ye pradhan vir manushhyoan mean sianh ke saman parakrami, balavan, athyanht krodhi, prahar karane mean kushal, tarun, darshaniy evan mahabali haian. (2)
- rajan! yah jo tumhhara priy sakha karn hai, jo tumhhean panhdavoan ke sath yuddh ke liye sada uthsahit karata rahata hai aur ranakshetr mean sada apani kroorata ka parichay deta hai, b da hi katubhashi, athmaprashansi aur nich hai. yah karn tumhhara manhtri, neta aur banhdhu bana hua hai. yah abhimani to hai hi, tumhhara ashray pakar bahut ooanche chadh gaya hai. (3-4)
- yah karn yuddhabhoomi mean n to atirathi hai aur n rathi hi kahalane yoghy hai, khyoanki yah moorkh apane sahaj kavach tatha divhy kunhdaloan se hin ho chuka hai. yah doosaroan ke prati sada ghrina ka bhav rakhata hai. parashuramaji ke abhishap se, brahramhn ki shapokti se tatha vijayasadhak uparyukht upakaranoan ko kho dene se meri drashti mean yah karn adhirathi hai. arjun se bhi dane par yah kadapi jivit nahian bach sakata. (5-7)
- yah sunakar samasht shastradhariyoan mean shreshhth dronachary bhi bol uthe ‘ap jaisa kahate haian, bilhkul thik hai. apaka yah mat kadapi mithhya nahian hai.' (8)
- ‘yah prathyek yuddh mean ghamand to bahut dikhata hai; parantu vahaan se bhagata hi dekha jata hai. karn dayalu aur pramadi hai. isaliye meri ray mean bhi yah ardharathi. (9)
- yah sunakar radhanandan karn krodh se aankhean pha d-pha dakar dekhane laga aur apane vachanaroopi chabuk se pi da deta hua bhishhm se bola- (10)
- ’pitamah! yadyapi maianne tumhhara koee aparadh nahian kiya hai to bhi sada mujhase dvesh rakhane ke karan tum isi prakar pag-pag par mujhe apane bagbanoan dvara ichhchhanusar chot pahuanchate rahate ho. (11)
- maian duryodhan ke karan yah sab kuchh chupachap sah leta hooan, parantu tum mujhe moorkh aur kayar ke saman samajhate ho. (12)
- tum mere vishay mean jo ardharathi hone ka mat prakat kar rahe ho, isase samhpoorn jagat ko ni:sandeh aisa hi pratit hone lagega; khyoanki sab yahi janate haian ki gangananhdan bhishhm jhooth nahian bolate. (13)
- tum kauravoan ka sada ahit karate ho; parantu raja duryodhan is bat ko nahian samajhate haian. tum mere gunoan ke prati dvesh rakhane ke karan jis prakar rajaoan ki mujh par virakti karana chahate ho, vaisa prayathn tumhhare siva doosara kaun kar sakata hai? is samay yuddh ka avasar upasthit hai aur saman shreni ke udaracharit raja ekatr hue haian; aise avasar par apas mean bhed (phoot) uthpanhn karane ki ichhchha rakhakar kaun purush apane hi paksh ke yoddha ka is prakar tej aur uthsah nashht karega? (14-15)
- kaurav! keval b di avashtha ho jane, bal pak jane, adhik dhan ka sangrah kar lene tatha bahusankhhyak bhaee-banhdhuoan ke hone se hi kisi kshatriy ko maharathi nahian gina ja sakata. (16)
- kshatriy jati mean jo bal mean adhik ho, vahi shreshhth mana gaya hai. brahman vedamanhtroan ke jnan se, vaishhy adhik dhan se aur shoodr adhik ayu hone se shreshhth samajhe jate haian. (17)
