gautami boli- "vhyadh! is sarp ke mare jane par mera putr pun: jivan prapht kar lega, aisi bat nahian hai. isaka vadh karane se doosara koee labh bhi mujhe nahian dikhayi deta hai. isaliye is sarp ko tum jivit chho d do." vhyadh ne kaha- "devi! vritrasur ka vadh karake devaraj inhdr shreshhth pad ke bhagi hue aur trishooladhari rudradev ne daksh ke yajn ka vidhhvans karake usamean apane liye bhag prapht kiya. tum bhi devataoan dvara kiye gaye is bartav ka hi palan karo. is sarp ko shighr hi mar dalo. is kary mean tumhhean shanka nahian karani chahiye." bhishhm ji kahate haian- "rajan! vhyadh ke bar-bar kahane aur ukasane par bhi mahabhaga gautami ne sarp ko marane ka vichar nahian kiya. us samay banhdhan se pi dit hokar dhire-dhire saans leta hua vah saanp b di kathinaee se apane ko sanbhalakar manhd shvar se manushhy ki vani mean bola. sarp ne kaha- "o nadan arjunak! isamean mera khya dosh hai? maian to paradhin hooan. mrithyu ne mujhe vivash karake is kary ke liye prerit kiya tha. usake kahane se hi maianne is balak ko dansa hai, krodh se aur kamana se nahian. vhyadh! yadi isamean kuchh aparadh hai to vah mera nahian, mrithyu ka hai." vhyadh ne kaha- "o sarp! yadyapi toone doosare ke adhin hokar yah pap kiya hai tathapi too bhi to isamean karan hai hi; isaliye too bhi aparadhi hai. sarp! jaise mitti ka bartan banate samay danhd aur chak adi ko bhi usamean karan mana jata hai, usi prakar too bhi is balak ke vadh mean karan hai. bhujangam! jo bhi aparadhi ho, vah mere liye vadhhy hai; panhnag! too bhi aparadhi hai hi; khyoanki too shvayan apane apako isake vadh mean karan batata hai." sarp ne kaha- "vhyadh! jaise mitti ka bartan banane mean ye danhd-chakr adi sabhi karan paradhin hote haian, usi prakar maian bhi mrithyu ke adhin hooan. isaliye tumane jo mujh par dosh lagaya hai, vah thik nahian hai. athava yadi tumhhara yah mat ho ki ye danhd-chakr adi bhi ek-doosare ke prayojak hote haian; isaliye karan haian hi. kiantu aisa manane se ek-doosare ko prerana dene vala hone ke karan kary-karanabhav ke nirnay mean sandeh ho jata hai. aisi dasha mean n to mera koee dosh hai aur n maian vadhhy athava aparadhi hi hooan. yadi tum kisi ka aparadh samajhate ho to vah sare karanoan ke samooh par hi lagoo hota hai." vhyadh ne kaha- "sarp! yadi man bhi lean ki too aparadh ka n to karan hai aur n karta hi hai to bhi is balak ki mrithyu to tere hi karan huee hai, isaliye maian tujhe marane yoghy samajhata hooan. sarp! tere mat ke anusar yadi dushhtatapoorn kary karake bhi karta us dosh se lipht nahian hota hai, tab to chor ya hathyare adi jo apane aparadhoan ke karan rajaoan ke yahaan vadhhy hote haian, unhhean bhi vashtav mean aparadhi ya dosh ka bhagi nahian hona chahiye. (phir to pap aur usaka danhd bhi vhyarth hi hoga) at: too khyoan bahut bakavad kar raha hai." sarp ne kaha- "vhyadh! prayojak (prerak) karta rahe ya n rahe, prayojhy karta ke bina kriya nahian hoti; isaliye yahaan yadyapi ham log (maian aur mrithyu) samanaroop se hetu haian to bhi prayojak hone ke karan mrithyu par hi vishesharoop se yah aparadh lagaya ja sakata hai. yadi tum mujhe is balak ki mrithyu ka vashtut: karan manate ho to yah tumhhari bhool hai. vashtav mean vichar karane par prerana karane ke karan doosara hi (mrithyu hi) aparadhi sidv hoga; khyoanki vahi praniyoan ke vinash mean aparadhi hai." |
