manas tatha parthiv tirth ki mahatta

yudhishthir ne poochha- pitamah! jo sab tirthoan mean shreshth ho tatha jahaan jane se param shuddhi ho jati ho, us tirth ko majhe vistarapoorvak bataiye.

bhishm ji ne kaha- yudhishthir! is prithvi par jitane tirth haian, ve sab manishi purushoan ke liye gunakari hote haian; kiantu un sab mean jo param pavitr aur pradhan tirth haian, usaka varnan karata hooan, ekagrachitt hokar suno. jisamean dhairyaroop kund aur satyaroop jal bhara hua hai tatha jo agadh, nirmal evan atyant shuddh hai, us manas tirth mean sada paramatma ka ashray lekar snan karana chahiye. kamana aur yachana ka abhav, saralata, saty mriduta, ahiansa, samast praniyoan ke prati kroorata ka abhav-daya, indriyasanyam aur manonigrah- ye hi is manas tirth ke sevan se prapt hone vali pavitrata ke lakshan haian. jo mamata, ahankar, rag-dveshadi dvandv aur parigrah se rahit evan bhiksha se jivan nirvah karate haian, ve vishuddh antahkaran vale sadhu purush tirthasvaroop haian. kiantu jisaki buddhi mean ahankar ka nam bhi nahian hai, vah tattvajnani purush shreshth tirth kahalata hai.

bhagavan narayan athava bhagavan shiv mean jo bhakti hoti hai, vah bhi uttam tirth mani gayi hai. pavitrata ka yah lakshan tumhean vichar karane par sarvatr hi drishtigochar hoga. jinake antahkaran se tamogun, rajogun aur sattvagun dhul gaye haian arthat jo tinoan gunoan se rahit hai, jo brahy pavitrata aur apavitrata se yukt rahakar bhi apane kartavy (tattvavichar, dhyan, upasana adi) ka hi anusandhan karate haian. jo sarvasv ke tyag mean hi abhiruchi rakhate haian, sarvajn aur samadarshi hokar shauchachar ke palan dvara atmashuddhi ka sampadan karate haian, ve satpurush hi param pavitr tirthasvaroop haian. sharir ko keval pani se bhigo lena hi snan nahian kahalata hai. sachcha snan to usi ne kiya hai, jisane man-indri ke sanyamaroopi jal mean gota lagaya hai. vahi bahar aur bhitar se pavitr mana gaya hai. jo bite ya nasht hue vishayoan ki apeksha nahian rakhate, prapt hue padarthoan mean mamatashoonh‍y hote haian tatha jinake man mean koee ichchha paida nahian hoti, unhian mean param pavitrata hoti hai. is jagat mean prajnan hi sharir-shuddhi ka vishesh sadhan hai.

isi prakar akianchanata aur man ki prasannata bhi sharir ko shuddh karane vale haian. shuddhi char prakar ki mani gayi hai- 'acharashuddhi', 'manahshuddhi', 'tirthashuddhi' aur 'jnanashuddhi'; inamean jnan se prapt hone vali shuddhi hi sabase shreshth mani gayi hai. jo prasann evan shuddh man se brahmajnanaroopi jal ke dvara manas tirth mean snan karata hai, usaka vah snan hi tattvadarshi jnani ka snan mana gaya hai. jo sada shauchachar se sampann, vishuddh bhav se yukt aur keval sadgunoan se vibhooshit hai, us manushy ko sada shuddh hi samajhana chahiye.

bharat! yah maianne sharir mean sthit tirthoan ka varnan kiya; ab prithvi par jo punyatirth haian; unaka mahattv bhi suno.

jaise sharir ke vibhinn sthan pavitr bataye gaye haian, usi prakar prithvi ke bhinn-bhinn bhag bhi pavitr tirth haian aur vahaan ka jal punyadayak hai.
