kisi granth ke prayojan ka nirdharan karate hue hamean us prashn ko dekhana chahie, jise lekar vah prarambh hota hai (upakram), aur us nishkarsh ko dekhana chahie, jisake sath vah samapt hota hai (upasanhar). gita ek samasya ko lekar prarambh hoti hai. arjun yuddh karane se inakar kar deta hai aur kathinaiyaan upasthit karata hai. vah karm se door rahane aur sansar ko tyagane ke lie yuktiyaan prastut karata hai, jo sunane mean thik jan p dati haian. yah karm-sannyas ka adarsh gita ki rachana ke kal mean kuchh sampradayoan par vishesh roop se prabhav jamae hue tha. arjun ke mat ko parivartit karana gita ka uddeshy hai. isamean yah prashn uthaya gaya hai ki karm achchha hai ya karm ka tyag. aur ant mean yah nishkarsh nikala gaya hai ki karm achchha hai. arjun yah ghoshana karata hai ki unaki duvidhaean samapt ho gee haian aur vah l dane ke lie die ge adeshoan ka palan karega. sare upadesh mean guru krishn karm ki avashyakata par bal deta hai.[1] vah arjun ki samasya ko hal karane ke lie sansar ko ‘bhram’ aur karm ko ‘jal’ kahakar nahian tal deta. vah is sansar mean manushy ko aisa poorn sakriy jivan bitane ka upadesh deta hai, jisamean usaka antarik jivan paramatma ke sath ju da hua ho. is prakar gita karm karane ka adesh hai. isamean yah spasht kiya gaya hai ki manushy ko n keval samajik prani ke roop mean, apitu adhyatmik bhavitavyata vale ek vyakti ke roop mean kya kuchh karana chahie. isamean sannyas ki bhavana ke sath-sath karmakand ki dharmanishtha vale un logoan ke vishay mean bhi uchit dhang se charcha ki gee hai, jo isaki naitik sanhita ke antargat ate haian.[2] saankhy, jo gita mean jnan ka hi doosara nam hai, hamean karm ka tyag karane ko kahata hai. ek suvidit drishtikon yah hai ki sab utpann prani karm dvara bandhan mean phansate haian aur jnan dvara unaka uddhar hota hai.[3] pratyek kary, chahe vah bhala ho ya bura, apana svabhavik parinam utpann karata hai aur usake karan sansar mean sharir dharan karana p data hai aur vah mukti mean badha hai. pratyek karm karta (karane vale) ke ahankar aur prithakta ki bhavana ko pusht karata hai aur ek nee kary-parampara ko chala deta hai. isalie yah yukti prastut ki gee ki manushyoan ko sab karmo ko tyagakar sannyasi ban jana chahie.
