yoorop mean arish‍tatal se lekar ab tak jis prakar is samh‍banh‍dh mean do paksh haian, usi prakar bharatiy vaidik dharm mean bhi prachin kal se lekar ab tak is samh‍banh‍dh ke do samh‍praday ek se chale a rahe haian[1]. inamean se ek ko sannh‍yas marg, saankhh‍y-nishh‍tha ya keval saankhh‍y (athava jnan mean hi nith‍y nimagh‍n rahane ke karan jnan-nishh‍tha bhi ) kahate hai; aur doosare ko karmayog, athava sankshep mean keval yog ya karmanishh‍tha kahate haian. tisare prakaran me kah aye haian, ki yahaan ‘sakhh‍y’ aur ‘yog’shabh‍doan ka arth kramash: kapil saankhh‍y aur patajanl yog nahian hai. paranh‍tu ‘sannh‍yas’ shabh‍d bhi kuchh sandigh‍dh hai, isaliye usake arth ka kuchh adhik vi‍varan karana yahaan avashh‍yak hai. ‘sannh‍yas’ shabh‍d ke sirph ‘vivah n karana’ aur yadi kiya ho to ‘bal-bachh‍choan ko chho d bhagave kap de rang lena’ athava ‘keval chautha ashram grahan karana, itana hi arth yahaan vivakshit nahian hai. kh‍yoanki vivah n karane par bhi bhishm pitamah apane jivan ke anh‍t tak rajakaj ke udyog me lage rahe; aur shrimachh‍chhakarachary ne brahmachary se ekadam chautha ashram grahan kar, ya maharashh‍tr desh mean shrisamarth ramadas ne mrith‍yupanryat brahmachari gusaee rah kar, jnan phaila karake sansar ke uddhararth karm kiye haian.

ab yahaan mukhh‍y prashh‍n yahi hai, ki jnanotar sansar ke vh‍yavahar keval karttavh‍y samajh kar lok-kalh‍yan ke liye kiye jave athava mithh‍yasamajh kar ekadam chho d diye javeॽ in vh‍yavaharoan ya karmoan ko karane vala karmayogi kahalata hai; phir chahe vah bh‍yaha ho ya kvaanra, bhagave kap de pahane ya saphed. haan, yah bhi kaha ja sakata hai ki aise kam karane ke liye vivah n karana, bhagave kap de pahanana athava bash‍ti se bahar virakh‍t ho kar rahana hi kabhi kabhi vishesh subhite ka hota hai. kh‍yoanki‍ phir kutumh‍b ke bharan-poshan ki jhanjhat apane pichhe n rahane ke karan, apana sara samay aur parishram lok-karyoan mean laga dene ke liye kuchh bhi a dachan nahian rahati. yadi aise purush bhesh se sannh‍yasi hoan, to bhi ve tattv-drishti se karmayogi hi haian. paranh‍tu viparit paksh mean arthat jo log is sansar ke samash‍t vh‍yavaharoan ko ni:sar samajh unaka th‍yag karake chupachap baith rahate haian, unh‍hian ko sannh‍yasi kahana chahiye; phir chahe unh‍hone prath‍yaksh chautha ashram grahan kiya ho ya n kiya ho. saraansh, gita ka kataksh bhagave athava saphed kap doan par aur vivah ya brahmachary par nahian hai; prath‍yut isi ek bat par najar rakh kar gita mean sannh‍yas aur karmayog, donoan margoan ka vibhed kiya gaya hai, ki jnani purush jagath ke vh‍yavahar karata hai ya nahian. shesh batean gita dharm mean mahath‍v ki nahian hai.
