jnan praphti ki prerana karane ke liye jivathma shvatantr to avashhy hai; paranhtu vah tatvik drishti se mool mean nirgun aur keval hai, athava satavean prakaran mean batalaye anusar netrayukht paranhtu lang da hai[1], isaliye ukht prerana ke anusar karm karane ke liye jin sadhanoan ki avashhyakata hoti hai (jaise kumhhar ko pahiye ki avashhyakata hoti hai) ve is athma ke pas shvany apane nahian hote–jo sadhan upalabhdh haian, jaise deh aur buddhi adi indriyaan, ve sab mayathmak prakriti ke vikar haian. atev jivathma ko apani mukhti ke liye bhi, prarabhdh-karmanusar prapht dehendiy adi samagri (sadhan ya upadhi) ke dvara hi sab kam karana p data hai. in sadhanoan mean buddhi mukhhy hai isaliye kuchh kam karane ke liye jivathma pahale buddhi ko hi prarena karata hai. paranhtu poorvakarmanusar aur prakriti ke shvabhavanusar yah koee niyam nahian ki yah buddhi hamesha shuddh tatha sattvik hi ho. isaliye pahale trigunathmak prakriti ke pravanch se mukht ho kar is buddhi ko anhtamurkh, shuddh, sattvik ya athmanishhth hona chahiye, arthat yah buddhi aisi honi chahiye ki jivathma ki prerana ko mane, usaki ajna ka palan kare aur unhhian karmoan ko karane ka nishhchay kare ki jinase athma ka kalhyan ho. aisa hone ke liye dirghakal tk vairaghy ka abhhyas karana p data hai. itana hone par bhi bhookh-phyas adi dehadharm aur sanchit karmoan ke ve phal, jinaka bhogana aranbh ho gaya hai, mrithyu-samay tak chhootate hi nahian. tathpary yah hai ki yadyapi upadhibaddh jivathma dehendriyoan ke mokshanukool karm karane ki prarena karane ke liye shvatantr hai, tathapi prakriti hi ke dvara use sab kam karane p date haian, isaliye utane bhar ke liye (kumhhar adi karigaroan ke saman) vah paravalamhbi ho jata hai aur use dehendriy adi hathiyaroan ke pahale shuddh karake apane adhikar mean kar lena p data hai[2]. yah kam ekadam nahian ho sakata, ise dhir dhire karana chahiye; nahian to chamakane aur bh dakane vale gho de ke saman indriyaan balava karane lageangi aur manushhy ko dhar dabaveangi. isiliye bhagavan ne kaha hai ki indriy nigrah karane liye buddhi ko dhriti ya dhairy ki sahayata milani chahiye[3]; aur age atharahave adhhyay[4] mean buddhi ki bhaanti dhriti ke bhi–sattvik, rajas aur tamas–tin naisargik bhed batalaye gaye haian. inamean se tamas aur rajas ko chho d kar buddhi ko sattvik banane ke liye indriy nigrah karan p data hai; aur isi se chhathavean adhhyay mean isaka bhi sankshipht varnan kiya hai ki aise indriy nigrahabhhyas-roop yog ke liye uchit shthal, asan aur ahar kaun kaun se haian. |
