ve log, ‘ek hi atma ko bhinn bhinn yoniyoan mean janm kaise prapt hota hai’- isaki upapatti, saankhy-shastr ki tarah buddhi ke anek ‘bhav’ man kar nahian lagate; kiantu is vishay mean unaka yah siddhaant hai ki yah sab karm-vipak ka, athava karm ke phaloan ka parinam hai. gita mean, vedaantasootroan mean aur upanishadoan mean spasht kaha hai ki yah karm liang-sharir ke ashray se arthat adhar se raha karata hai aur jab atma sthool deh chho dakar jane lagata hai tab yah karm bhi liang-sharir- dbara usake sath ja kar bar bar usako bhinn bhinn janm lene ke liye badhy karata rahata hai. isaliye nam-roopath‍mak janm-maran ke chakkar se chhootakar nity parabrahm- svaroopi hone mean athava moksh ki prapti mean, piand ke atma ko jo a dachan hua karati hai usaka vichar karate samay liang-sharir aur karm donoan ka bhi vichar karana p data hai. inamean se liang-sharir ka saankhy aur vedaant donoan drishtiyoan se pahale hi vichar kiya ja chuka hai; isaliye yahaan phir usaki charcha nahian ki jati. is prakaran mean sirph isi ka vivechan kiya gaya hai, ki jis karm ke karan atma ko brahmajnan n hote hue anek janmoan ke chakkar mean p dana hota hai, us karm ka svaroop kya hai, aur usase chhoot kar atma ko amritattv prapt hone ke liye manushyoan ko is sansar mean kaise chalana chahiye.

srishti ke arambhakal mean mool avyakt aur nirgun parabrahm jis deshakal adi nam-roopatmak sagun shakti se vyakt, arthat drishy-srishtiroop hua sa dekh p data hai, usi ko vedaantashastr mean ‘maya’ kahate haian[1]; aur usi mean karm ka bhi samavesh hota hai[2]. yah bhi kaha ja sakata hai ki ‘maya’ aur ‘karm’ donoan samanarthak haian. kyoanki pahale kuchh n kuchh karm, arthat vyapar, hue bina avyakt ka vyakt hona athava nirgun ka sagun hona sambhav nahian. isiliye pahale yah kah kar ki maian apani maya se prakriti mean utpann hota hooan[3] phir age athavean adhyay mean gita mean hi karm ka yah lakshan diya hai ki ‘akshar parabrahm se panchamahabhootadi vividh srishti-nirman hone ki jo kriya hai vahi karm hai’[4]. karm kahate haian vyapar athava kriya ko; phir vah manushyakrit ho, srishti ke any padarthoan ki kriya ho, athava mool srishti ke utpann hone ki hi ho; itana vyapak arth is jagah vivakshit hai. parantu karm koee ho usaka parinam sadaiv keval itana hi hota hai, ki ek prakar ka nam-roop badal kar usaki jagah doosara nam-roop utpann kiya jay; kyoanki in nam-roopoan se achchhadit mool dravh‍y kabhi nahian badalata- vah sada ek hi rahata hai. udaharanarth, bunane ki kriya se ‘soot’ yah nam badal kar usi dravh‍y ko ‘vastr’ nam mil jata hai; aur kumhar ke vyapar se ‘mitti’ nam ke sthan mean ‘ghat’ nam prapt ho jata hai.
