is par narad ne kaha ki, ‘‘maianne itihas-puranaroopi paanchavean ved sahit rrigved, prabhriti samagraved, vyakaran, ganit, tarkashash‍tr, kalashash‍tr, nitishash‍tr, sabhi vedagan, dharmashash‍tr, bhootavidya, kshatravidya, nakshatravidya aur sarpadevajanavidya, prabhriti sab kuchh padha hai; parantu jab isase atmajnan nahian hua, tab ab tumhare yahaan aya hooan.’’ isaka sanatkumar ne yah uttar diya ki, ‘toone jo kuchh sikha hai, vah to sara namaroopatmak hai; sachcha brahm is namabrahm se bahut age hai; aur phir narad ko kramash: is prakar pahachan kara di ki, is nam roop se arthat saankhyoan ki avyakt prakriti se athava vani, asha, sankalp, man, buddhi (jnan ) aur pran se bhi pare evan inase badh-chadh kar jo hai vahi paramatmaroopi amritatattv hai. yahaan tak jo vivechan kiya gaya, usaka tatpary yah hai ki yadyapi manushy ki indriyoan ko nam-roop ke atirikt aur kisi ka bhi pratyaksh jnan nahian hota hai, to bhi is anity nam-roop ke achchhadan se dhaka hua lekin aankhoan se n dekh p dane vala arthat kuchh n kuchh avyakt nity dravy rahana hi chahiye; aur isi karan sari srishti ka jnan hamean ekata se hota rahata hai. jo kuchh jnan hota hai, so atma ko hi hota hai, isaliye atma hi jnata yani janane vala hua. aur is jnata ko nam-roopatmak srishti ka hi jnan hota hai; atah nam-roopatmak bahy srishti jnan huee[1] aur is nam roopatmak srishti ke mool mean jo kuchh vastutattv hai, vahi jney hai.

isi vargikaran ko man kar bhagavadgita ne jnata ko kshetrajn atma aur jney ko indriyatit nity parabrahm kaha hai[2]; aur phir age jnan ke tin bhed karake kaha ki, bhinh‍nata ya nanatv se jo srishti jnan hota hai vah rajas hai, tatha is nanatv ka jo jnan ekatvaroop se hota hai vah sattvik jnan hai[3]. is par kuchh log kahate haian ki is prakar jnata, jnan, aur jney ka tihara bhed karana thik nahi hai; evan yah manane ke liye hamare pas kuchh bhi praman nahian hai ki hamean jo kuchh jnan hota hai, usaki apeksha jagat mean aur bhi kuchh hai. gay, gho de, prabhriti jo bahy vastuean hamean dekh p dati hai, vah to jnan hi hai, jo ki hamean hota hai, aur yadyapi yah jnan saty hai to bhi yah batalane ke liye ki, vah jnan hai ka hai ka, hamare pas jnan ko chho d aur koee marg hi nahian rah jata; atev yah nahian kaha ja sakata ki is jnan ke atirikt bahy padarth ke nate kuchh svatantr vastuean haian athava in bahy vastuoan ke mool mean aur koee svatantr tattv hai. kyoanki jab jnata hi n raha tab jagat kahaan se rahe?
