jab koee manushy bina jnan prapt kiye hi mar jata hai, tab mrityu ke samay usake atma ke sath hi prakriti ke ukt 18 tattvoan se bana hua yah liang-sharir bhi sthool deh se bahar ho jata hai; aur jab tak us purush ko jnan ki prapti ho nahian jati tab tak, us liang-sharir hi ke karan usako naye naye janm lene p date haian. is par kuchh logoan ka yah prashn hai ki, manushy ki mrityu ke bad jiv ke sath sath is j d deh mean buddhi, ahankar, man aur das indriyoan ke vyapar bhi nasht hote hue hamean pratyaksh mean dekh p date haian; is karan liang sharir mean in terah tattvoan ka samavesh kiya jana to uchit hai, parantu in terah tattvoan ke sath paanch sookshm tanmatraoan ka bhi samavesh liang sharir mean kyoan kiya jana chahie? saankhyoan ka uttar yah hai ki ye terah tattv-niribuddhi, nira ahankar, man aur das indriyaan-prakriti ke keval gun haian; aur, jis tarah chhaya ko kisi n kisi padarth ka tatha chitr ko divar, kagaj adi ka ashray avashyak hai, usi tarah in gunatmak terah tattvoan ko bhi ekatr rahane ke liye kisi dravy ke ashray ki avashyakata hoti hai.

atma ‘‘purush’’ svayan nirgun aur akarta haian isaliye vah svayan kisi bhi gun ka ashray ho nahian sakata. manushy ki jivitavastha mean usake sharir ke sthool panchamahabhoot hi in terah tattvoan ke ashray-sthan hua karate haian. parantu, mrityu ke bad arthat sthool sharir ke nasht ho jane par, sthool panchamahabhootoan ka yah adhar chhoot jata hai. tab,us avastha mean, in terah gunatmak tattvoan ke liye kisi any dravyatmak ashray ki avashyakata hoti hai. yadi mool prakriti hi ko ashray man lean, toan vah avyakt aur avikrit avastha ki arthat anant aur sarvavyapi hone ke karan, ek chhote se liang-sharir ke ahankar, buddhi adi gunoan ka adhar nahian ho sakati. atev, mool prakriti ke hi dravyatmak vikaroan mean se, sthool panchamahabhootoan ke badale, unake moolabhoot paanch sookshm tanh‍matr-dravyoan ka samavesh, uparyukt terah gunoan ke sath hi sath unake ashray-sthan ki drishti se, liang-sharir mean kiya jata hai[1]. bahutere saankhy granthakar, liang-sharir aur sthoolasharir ke bich ek aur tisare sharir panchatanmatraoan se bane hue ki kalpana karake, pratipadan karate haian ki yah tisara sharir liang sharir ka adhar hai.

parantu hamara mat yah hai ki saankhy karika ki ikatalisavian arya ka yatharth bhav vaisa nahian hai, tikakaroan ne bhram se tisare sharir ki kalpana ki hai. hamare matanusar is arya ka uddeshy sirph is bat ka karan batalana hi hai, ki buddhi adi terah tattvoan ke sath panchatanmatraoan ka bhi samavesh liang sharir mean kyoan kiya gaya; isake atirikt any koee haitu nahian hai[2] kuchh vichar karane se pratit ho jayega ki, sookshm atharah tattvoan saankhyokt liang-sharir mean aur upanishadoan mean varnit liang-sharir mean vishesh bhed nahian hai.
