yadi bhinn-bhinn gunoan ke bhinn-bhinn mishranoan par vichar kiya jaye to yah gun-vaichitry anant prakar se anant ho sakata hai. parantu, chahe jo ho, padarthoan ke mool-gun paanch se kabhi adhik ho nahian sakate; kyoanki indriyaan keval paanch hai aur pratyek ko ek hi ek gun ka bodh hua karata hai. isaliye saankhyoan ne yah nishchit kiya hai ki, yadyapi keval shabdagun ke athava sparshagun ke prithakh-prithakh, yani doosare gunoan ke mishran-rahit, padarth hamean dekh n p date hoan, tathapi sandeh nahian ki mool prakriti mean nira shabd, nira sparsh, nira roop, nira ras, aur nira gandh hai arthath shabh‍datanh‍matr,sh‍parshatanh‍matr, roopatanh‍matr, rasatanh‍matr, aur gandhatanh‍matr hi haian; arthat mool prakriti ke yahi paanch bhinn-bhinn sookshm tanmatravikar athava dravh‍y nisanh‍deh haian. age is bat ka vichar kiya gaya hai ki, panchatanh‍matraoan athava unase utpann hone vale panchamahabhootoan ke sambandh mean upanishatkaroan ka kathan kya hai.

is prakar niriandriy-srishti ka vichar karake yah nishchit kiya gaya, ki usamean paanch hi sookshm moolatattv haian; aur jab ham sendriy-srishti par drishti dalate haian tab yahi pratit hota hai, ki paanch jnanendriyaan, paanch karmendriyaan aur man, in gyarah indriyoan ki apeksha adhik indriyaan kisi ke bhi nahian hai. sthool deh mean hath-pair adi indriyaan yadyapi sthool pratit hoti hai tathapi, inamean se pratyek ki j d mean kisi mool sookshm tattv ka astitv mane bina, indriyoan ki bhinnata ka yathochit karan maloom nahian hota. pashchimi adhibhautik utkranti-vadiyoan ne is bat ki khoob charcha ki hai. ve kahate haian ki mool ke atyant chhote aur golakar jantuoan mean sirph ‘tvacha’ hi ek indriy hoti hai; aur is tvacha se hi any indriyaan kramashah utpann hoti haian. udaharanarth, mool jantu ki tvacha se prakash ka sanyog hone par aankh utpann huee, ityadi. adhibhautik-vadiyoan ka yah tattv, ki prakash adi sanyog se sthool indriyoan ka pradurbhav hota hai, saankhyoan ko bhi grahy hai. mahabharat[1] mean, saankhy-prakriya ke anusar indriyoan ke pradurbhav ka varnan is prakar paya jata haiah-[2]

arthath ‘‘ praniyoan ke atma ko jab shabd sunane ki bhavana huee tab kan utpann hua, roop pahachanane ki ichchha se aankh aur sooanghane ki ichchha se nak utpann huee. ‘‘parantu saankhyoan ka yah kathan hai, ki yadyapi tvacha ka pradurbhav pahale hota ho, tathapi moolaprakriti mean hi yadi bhinn-bhinn indriyoan ke utpann hone ki shakti n ho, to sajiv srishti ke atyant chhote ki doan ki tvacha par soory-prakash ka chahe jitana aghat ya sanyog hota rahai, to bhi unhean aankhean—aur ve bhi sharir ke ek vishisht bhag hi mean -kaise prapt ho sakati haian? darvin ka siddhant sirph yah ashay pragat karata hai ki, do praniyoan-ek chakshu vala aur doosara chakshu-rahit-ke nirmit hone par, is j d-srishti ke kalah mean chakshu vala adhik samay tak tik sakata hai aur doosara shighr hi nasht ho jata hai. parantu pashchimi adhibhautik srishti-shastrajn is bat ka mool karan nahian batala sakate, ki netr adi bhinn-bhinn indriyoan ki utpatti pahale huee hi kyoan.
