bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- tat! kuantinandan! tum jis adhh‍yath‍majnan ke vishay mean poochh rahe ho, usaki vh‍yakhh‍ya maian tumh‍hare liye karata hooan, vah param kalh‍yanakari aur sukhash‍varoop hai. acharyoan ne srishti aur pralay ki vh‍yakhh‍ya ke sath adhh‍yath‍majnan ka vivechan kiya hai, jise janakar manushh‍y is sansar mean sukh aur prasanh‍nata ka bhagi hota hai. use abhisht phal ki prapti bhi hoti hai. vah adhh‍yath‍majnan samash‍t praniyoan ke liye hitakar hai. prithh‍vi, vayu, akash, jal aur agni- ye paanch mahabhoot samh‍poorn praniyoan ki uth‍patti aur pralay ke sh‍than hai. jaise laharean samudr se prakat hokar phir usi mean lin ho jati haian, usi prakar ye paanch mahabhoot bhi jis paramatma se utpann hue hai, usi mean sab praniyoan ke sahit baranbar lin hote haian. jaise kachhua apane aangoan ko phailakar pun: samet leta hai, usi prakar sampoorn bhootoan ke atma parabrahm parameshh‍var apane rache hue sampoorn bhootoan ko phailakar phir apane bhitar hi samet lete haian. sampoorn bhootoan ki srishti karane vale paramatma ne sab praniyoan ke sharir mean paanch hi mahabhootoan ko sthapit kiya hai; parantu unamean vishamata kar di hai- kisi mahabhoot ke aansh ko adhik aur kisi ke aansh ko kam karake rakha hai. us vaishamy ko sadharan jiv nahian dekh pata. shabh‍dagun, shrotr indriy aur sharir ke sampoorn chhidr- ye tin akash ke kary haian. sparsh, cheshta aur tvagindriy- ye tin vayu ke kary mane gaye haian. roop, netr aur paripak- ye tin tej ke kary bataye jate haian. ras, jihria tatha kled (gilapan)- ye tin jal ke gun arthat kary mane gaye haian. gandh, ghranendriy aur sharir- ye tin bhoomi ke gun arthat kary haian. is prakar is sharir mean paanch mahabhoot aur chhatha man hai; aisa bataya jata hai. bharatanandan! shrotr adi paanch indriyaan aur man- ye jivatma ko vishayoan ka jnan karane vale haian. sharir mean in chh: ke atirikh‍t satavian buddhi aur athavaan kshetrajn hai. indriyaan vishayoan ko grahan karati haian. man sankalp-vikalp karata hai. buddhi nishh‍chay karane vali hai aur kshetrajn (atma) sakshi ki bhaanti sthit rahata hai. donoan pairoan ke taloan se lekar oopar tak jo sharir sthit hai, use jo sakshibhoot chetan oopar-niche sab or se dekhata hai, vah is sare sharir ke bhitar aur bahar sab jagah vyapt hai. is bat ko tum achchhi tarah samajh lo.

buddhi ki sampoorn gati ka vivechan

sabhi manushh‍yoan ko apani indriyoan (aur man-buddhi) ki dekh-bhal karake unake vishay mean poori janakari rakhani chahiye; kyoanki satth‍v, raj aur tam- ye tinoan gun unhian ka ashray le‍kar rahate haian. manushh‍y apani buddhi ke bal se in sabako aur jivoan ke avagaman ki avastha ko janakar shanai:-shanai: us par vichar karane se uttam shanti pa jata hai.[1] tam adi gun buddhi ko baranbar vishayoan ki or le jate hai; tatha buddhi ke sath-sath manasahit paanchoan indriyoan ko aur unaki samast vrittiyoan ko bhi le jate haian. us buddhi ke abhav mean gun kaise rah sakate haian? yah charachar jagat buddhi ke uday hone par hi utpann hota hai aur usake lay ke sath lin ho jata hai; isaliye yah sara prapanch buddhimay hi hai; at: shruti ne sabaki buddhiroopata ka hi nirdesh kiya hai. buddhi jisake dvara dekhati hai, use netr aur jisake dvara sunati hai, use shrotr k‍hate haian. isi prakar jisase vah sooanghati hai, use ghran kaha gaya hai, vahi jihria ke dvara ras ka anubhav karati hai. buddhi tvacha se sparsh ka bodh praph‍t karati hai. is prakar vah baanrabar vikar ko praph‍t hoti rahati hai. vah jis karan ke dvara jisaka anubhav karana chahati hai, man usi ka roop dharan kar leta hai. bhinn-bhinn vishayoan ko grahan karane ke liye jo buddhi ke paanch adhishthan haian, unhian ko paanch indriyaan kahate haian. adrishh‍y jivatma un sabaka adhishthata (prerak) hai. jivatma ke ashrit rahakar buddhi (sukh, du:kh aur moh) tin bhavoan mean sthit hoti hai. vah kabhi to prasannata ka anubhav karati hai, kabhi shok mean doobi rahati hai aur kabhi sukh aur du:kh donoan ke anubhav se rahit mohachchhann ho jati hai. is prakar vah manushh‍yoan ke man ke bhitar tin bhavoan mean avasthit hai, yah bhavatmika buddhi (samadhi-avastha mean) sukh, du:kh aur moh- in tinoan bhavoan ko laangh jati hai. thik usi tarah jaise saritaoan ka svami samuhdr uttal tanragoan se sanyukh‍t ho apani vishal tatabhoomi ko bhi kabhi-kabhi laangh jata hai. uparyukh‍t bhavoan ko laangh jane par bhi buddhi bhavatmak man mean sookshh‍maroop se sthit rahati hai. tatpashh‍chat samadhi se utthan ke samay pravritth‍yatmak rajogun buddhibhav ka anusaran karata hai. us samay rajogun se yukh‍t huee buddhi sari indriyoan ko pravritti mean laga deti hai. tadanantar vishayoan ke sambandh se pritiroop satth‍vagun prakat hota hai. usake bad purush ke asakti adi doshoan se tamomay bhav ka uday hota hai. prasannata ya harsh satth‍vagun ka kary hai, shok rajogun roop hai aur moh tamogun roop. is sansar mean jo-jo bhav haian, ve sab inhian tinoan ke antargat haian. bharat! is prakar maianne tumhare samaksh buddhi ki sampoorn gati ka vishad vivechan kiya hai.[2]

buddhiman purush ko chahiye ki vah apani sampoorn indriyoan ko kaboo mean rakhe. bharat! satth‍v, raj aur tam- ye tin gun sada hi praniyoan mean sthit rahate haian aur inake karan un sab jivoan mean sattviki, rajasi aur tamasi- yah tin prakar ki anubhooti dekhi jati hai. satth‍vagun sukh ki anubhooti karane vala hai, rajogun du:kh ki prapti karata hai aur jab ve donoan tamogun (moh)– se sanyukt hote haian, tab vyavahar ke vishay nahian rah jate. jab sharir ya man mean kisi prakar se bhi prasannata ka bhav ho, tab yah kahana chahiye ki sattvik bhav ka uday hua hai.[2] jab apane man mean du:kh se yukh‍t aprasannata ka bhav jagrat ho, tab yah samajhana chahiye ki rajogun ki pravritti huee hai. at: us du:kh ko pakar man mean chinta n kare (kyoanki chinta se du:kh aur badhata hai). jab man mean koee mohayukh‍t bhav paida ho aur kisi bhi indriy ka vishay spasht jan n p de, usake vishay mean koee tark bhi kam n kare aur vah kisi tarah samajh mean n ave, tab yahi nishh‍chay karana chahiye ki tamogun ki vriddhi huee hai. jab man mean kisi prakar bhi atyant harsh, prem, anand, sukh aur shanti ka anubhav ho raha ho, tab in gunoan ko sattvik samajhana chahiye. jis samay kisi karan se ya bina karan hi aansatosh, shok, santap, lobh or asahanashilata ke bhav dikhayi dean to unhean rajogun ka chihn janana chahiye. isi prakar jab apaman, moh, pramad, svapn, nidra aur alasy adi dosh kisi tarah bhi gherate hoan to unhean tamogun ke hi vividh roop samajhe.[3]

jisaka door tak dau d lagane vala aur anek vishayoan ki or jane vala kamanayukt sanshayatmak man achchhi tarah vash mean ho jata hai, vah manushh‍y ihalok mean tatha marane ke bad paralok mean bhi sukhi hota hai. buddhi aur atma- ye donoan hi sookshh‍m tatth‍v haian tathapi inamean b da bhari antar hai. tum is antar par drishtipat karo. inamean buddhi to gunoan ki srishti karati hai aur atma gunoan ki srishti se alag rahata hai. jaise goolar ka phal aur usake bhitar rahane vale ki de ek sath rahate hue bhi ek-doosare se alag haian, usi prakar buddhi aur ath‍ma donoan ka ek sath rahana aur bhinh‍n-bhinh‍n hona samajhana chahiye. ye donoan sh‍vabhav se hi alag-alag haian to bhi sada ek-doosare se mile rahate haian. thik vaise hi, jaise machhali aur jal ek-doosare se prithak hokar bhi parash‍par sanyukh‍t rahate haian. yahi sthiti buddhi aur ath‍ma ki bhi hai. satth‍v adi gun j d hone ke karan ath‍ma ko nahian janate; kiantu ath‍ma chetan hai, isaliye vah gunoan ko sab prakar se janata hai. yadyapi ath‍ma gunoan ka sakshi hai, at: unase sarvatha bhinh‍n hai to bhi vah apane ko un gunoan se sanyukh‍t manata hai. jaise ghade़ mean rakha hua dipak ghade़ ke chhedoan se apana prakash phailakar vash‍tuoan ka jnan karata hai, usi prakar paramath‍ma sharir ke bhitar sthit hokar cheshta aur jnan se shoonh‍y indriyoan tatha man-buddhi in satoan ke dvara samh‍poorn padarthoan ka anubhav karata hai. buddhi gunoan ki srishti karati hai aur ath‍ma sakshi banakar dekhata rahata hai. un buddhi aur ath‍ma ka yah sanyog anadi hai. buddhi ka paramath‍ma ke siva doosara koee ashray nahian hai aur kshetrajn ka bhi koee doosara ashray nahian hai. buddhi man se hi ghanishth sanbandh rakhati hai. gunoan ke sath usaka sakshat samh‍park kadapi nahian hota. jab jiv buddhiroopi sarathi aur manaroopi bagador-dvara indriyaroopi ashh‍voan ki lagam achh‍chhi tarah kaboo mean rakhata hai tab ghade़ mean rakhe hue prajh‍valit dipak ke saman apane bhitar hi usaka ath‍ma prakashit hone lagata hai.[3]

jo saansarik karmoan ka parith‍yag karake sada apane–ap mean hi anurakh‍t rahata hai, vah mananashil muni samh‍poorn bhootoan ka ath‍ma hokar param gati ko praph‍t hota hai. jaise jalachar pakshi jal se liph‍t nahian hota, usi prakar vishuddh buddhi jnani purush nirliph‍t rahakar hi samh‍poorn bhootoan mean vicharata hai. yah ath‍matatth‍v aisa hi nirliph‍t evan shuddh–buddhish‍varoop hai- aisa apani buddhi ke dvara nishh‍chay karake jnani purush harsh, shok aur math‍sary dosh se rahit ho sarvatr samanabhav rakhate hue vichare. ath‍ma apane sh‍varoop mean sthit rahakar hi sada gunoan ki srishti karata hai. thik usi tarah, jaise mak di apane sh‍varoop mean sthit rahati huee hi jala banati hai. mak di ke jale ke hi saman samash‍t gunoan ki satta samajhani chahiye. ath‍masakshat ho jane par gun nasht ho jate haian to bhi sarvatha nivritt nahian hote haian; kh‍yoanki unaki nivritti prath‍yaksh nahian dekhi jati hai. jo paroksh vash‍tu hai usaki siddhi anuman se hoti hai. ek shreni ke vidvanoan ka aisa hi nishh‍chay hai. doosare log yah manate haian ki gunoan ki sarvatha nivritti ho jati hai. in donoan mato par bhalibhaanti vichar karake apani buddhi ke anusar yatharth vash‍tu ka nishh‍chay karana chahiye. buddhi ke dvara kalpit hua jo bhed hai, vahi hriday ki sudridh gaanth hai. use khealakar sanshh‍yarahit ho jnanavan purush sukh se rahe, kadapi shok n kare. jaise maile sharir vale manushh‍y jal se bhari huee nadi mean naha-dhokar saph-suthare ho jate haian, usi prakar is jnanamayi nadi mean avagahan karake malinachitt manushh‍y bhi shuddh evan jnan samh‍panh‍n ho jate haian- aisa jano. kisi mahanadi ke par ko janane vala purush keval janane matr se kritakrith‍y nahian hota; jab tak vah nauka adi ke dvara vahaan pahuanch n jay, tab tak vah chianta se santaph‍t hi rahata hai. parantu tatth‍vajn purush jnanamatr se hi sansar-sagar se par ho jata hai; use santap nahian hota. kh‍yoanki yah jnan sh‍vayan hi pulash‍varoop.[4]

jnani purushoan ke lakshan

jo manushh‍y buddhi se jivoan ke is avagaman par shanai:-shanai: vichar karake us vishuddh evan uttam adhh‍yatmik jnan ko praph‍t kar leta hai, vah param shaanti pata hai. jise dharm, arth aur kam- in tinoan ka thik-thik jnan hai, jo khoob soch-samajhakar unaka parith‍yag kar chuka hai aur jisane man ke dvara ath‍m tattv ka anusandhan karake yogayukh‍t ho ath‍ma se bhinh‍n vash‍tu ke liye uth‍sukata ka th‍yag kar diya hai, vahi tattavadarshi hai. jinh‍hoanne apane man ko vash mean nahian kiya hai, ve bhinh‍n-bhinh‍n vishayoan ki or prerit huee durnivary indriyoan dvara ath‍ma ka sakshath‍kar nahian kar sakate. yah janakar manushh‍y jnani ho jata hai. jnani ka isake siva aur kya lakshan hai? kh‍yoanki manishi purush us paramath‍m tatth‍v ko janakar hi apane ko kritakrith‍y manate haian. ajnaniyoan ke liye jo mahan bhay ka sh‍than haian, usi sansar se jnani purushoan ko bhay nahian hota. jnan hone par sabako ek-si hi gati (mukti) praph‍t hoti hai. kisi ko uth‍krisht ya nikrisht gati nahian milati; kh‍yoanki gunoan ka sanbandh rahane par hi unake taratamh‍y ke anusar praph‍t hone vali gati mean bhi asamanata batayi jati hai (jnani ka gunoan se sanbandh nahian rahata.)[4]

jo nishh‍kam bhav se karm karata hai, usaka vah karm pahale ke kiye hue samast karm-sanskaroan ka nash kar deta hai. poorvajanm aur is janm ke kiye hue ve donoan prakar ke karm us purush ke liye n to apriy phal utpann karate haian aur n to priy phal ke hi janak hote haian (kyoanki kartapan ke abhiman aur phal ki asakti se shoony hone ke karan unaka un karmoan se sambandh nahian rah jata). jo kam, krodh adi durvyasanoan se atur rahata hai, use vicharavan purush dhi‍kkarate haian. usake ni‍ndaniy karm us atur manav ko sabhi yoniyoan (pashu-pakshi adi ke shariroan) mean janm dilata hai. lok mean bhogasakti ke karan atur rahane vale log, stri, putr adi ke nash hone par unake liye bahut shok karate aur phoot-phootakar rote haian. tum unaki is durdasha ko dekh lo. sath hi jo sarasar-vivek mean kushal haian aur satpurushoan ko praph‍t hone vale do prakar ke pad ko arthat sagun-upasana aur nirgun-upasana ke phal ko janate haian, ve kabhi shok nahian karate. unaki avastha par bhi drishtipat kar lo (phir tumhean apane liye jo hitakar dikhayi de, usi path ka ashray lo).[5]
