ashcharyavatpashyati kashchiden-
mashcharyavadvadati tathaiv chanyah.
ashcharyavachchainamanyah shrinoti mote akshar
shrutvapyenan ved n chaiv kashchith॥[1]

bhavarth

koee atma ko ashchary se dekhata hai, koee ise ashchary ki tarah batata hai tatha koee ise ashchary ki tarah sunata hai, kintu koee-koee isake vishay mean sunakar bhi kuchh nahian samajh pate.

chooanki gitopanishadh upanishadoan ke siddhant par adharit hai, atah kathopanishadh mean[2]is shlok ka hona koee ashcharyajanak nahian hai–

shravanayapi bahubhiryo n labhyah shrinvantoapi bahavo yan n vidyuah.
ashcharyo vakta kushaloasy labdha ashcharyoasy jnata kushlanushishtah॥

vishal pashu, vishal vatavriksh tatha ek ianch sthan mean lakhoan karo doan ki sankhya mean upasthit sookshmakitanuoan ke bhitar anu-atma ki upasthiti nishchit roop se ashcharyajanak hai. alpajn tatha durachari vyakti anu-atma ke sphuliang ke chamatkaroan ko nahian samajh pata, bhale hi use b de se b da jnani, jisane vishv ke pratham prani brahma ko bhi shiksha di ho, kyoan n samajhae. vastuoan ke sthool bhautik bodh ke karan is yug ke adhikaansh vyakti isaki kalpana nahian kar sakate ki itana sookshmakan kis prakar itana virat tatha laghu ban sakata hai. atah log atma ko usaki sanrachana ya usake vivaran ke adhar par hi ashchary se dekhate haian. indriyatripti ki batoan mean phans kar log bhautik shakti (maya) se is tarah mohit hote haian ki unake pas atmajnan ko samajhane ka avasar hi nahian rahata, yadyapi yah tathy hai ki atm-jnan ke bina sare karyoan ka dushparinam jivan-sangharsh mean parajay ke roop mean hota hai. sambhavatah unhean isaka koee anuman nahian hota ki manushy ko atma ke vishay mean chintan karana chahie aur dukhoan ka hal khoj nikalana chahie.
