jisaki shakti kshin ho rahi ho, us raja ke liye brahman ko hi sabase bada़ sahayak bataya gaya hai; atah buddhiman naresh ko brahman ke bal ka ashray lekar hi apani unnati karani chahiye. jab bhootalapar vijayi raja apane rashtr mean kalyanamay shasan sthapit karana chahata ho, tab use chahiye ki jis kisi prakar se sabhi varn ke logoan ko apane-apane dharm ka palan karane mean lagaye rakhe. yudhishthir! jab dakoo aur lutere dharm maryada ka ullanghan karake svechchhachar ke pravritt hue hoan aur praja mean varnasankarata phaila rahe hoan, us samay is atyachar ko rokane ke liye yadi sabhi varnoan ke log hathiyar utha lean to unhean koee dosh nahian lagata. yudhishthir ne poochha- pitamah! yadi kshatriy jati hi sab or se brahmanoan ke sath duvryavahar karane lage, us samay us brahmanakul ki raksha kaun- sa dharm (kartavy) hai tatha kaun -sa mahanh ashray?

bhishmaji ne kaha-rajan! us samay brahman apane tap se, brahyachary se, shastr see, shastrase, bal se, nishkapat se athava bhedaniti se-jaise bhi sambhav ho, usi tarah kshatriy jati ko dabane ka prayatn karean. jab kshatriy hi praja ke oopar, usamean bhi visheshatah brahyarnoan par atyachar karane lage to us samay use brahman hi daba sakata hai; kyoki kshatriy ki utpatti brahman se hi huee hai. agni jal se, kshatriy se aur loha patthar se paida hua hai. inaka tej ya prabhav sarvatr kam karata hai; parantu apani utpatti ke mool karanoan se mukabala p dane par shant ho jata haian. jab loha patthar katata hai, agni jal ke pas jati hai aur kshatriy brahman see ddhesh karane lagata hai, tab ye tinoan nasht ho jate haian. yudhishthir! yaghapi kshatriyoan ke tej aur bal prachand aur ajey hote hai, tathapit brahman se takkar lene par shant ho jate hai. jab brahman ki shakti mand p d jay, kshatriy ka parakram bhi durbal ho jay aur sabhi varnoan ke log sarvatha brahmanoan se durbhav rakhane lagean, us samay jo log brahmanoan ki, dharm ki, tatha apane apaki raksha ke liye pranoan ki parava n karake dushtoan ke sath krodhapoorvak yuddh karate haian, un manasvi purushoan ka pavitr yash sab or phail jata hai; kyoanki brahmanoan ki raksha ke liye sab ko shastr grahan karane ka adhikar hai. atimatra mean yajn, vedadhyayan, tapasya aur upavas vrat karane valoan ko tatha atmashuddhi ke liye agnipravesh karane vale logoan jin lokoan ki prapti hoti hai, unase bhi uttam lok brahman ke liye pran dene vale shooraviroan ko prapt hote haian. brahman bhi yadi tinoan varnoan ki raksha ke liye shastr grahan kare to use dosh nahian lagata. vidvan purush is prakar yuddh mean apane sharir ke tyag se badhakar doosara koee dharm nahian manate haian. jo log brahmanoan se dvesh karane vale durachariyoan ko dabane ke liye yuddh ki jvala mean apane sharir ki ahuti de dalate haian, un viroan ko namaskar hai, unaka kalyan ho. ham logoan ko unhian ke saman lok prapt ho. manuji ne kaha hai ki ve svargiy shooravir brahmalok par vijay pa jate haian.
