at: viveki purush ko chahiye ki vah ajnanajanit doshoan ki bhali-bhaanti pariksha kare tatha us ajnan se uthpanhn hue du:kh aur ahankar ko thyag de. panchamahabhoot indriyaan, shabhd adi gun, sathv, raj aur tam tatha lokapaloan sahit tinoan lok yah sab kuchh ahankar mean hi pratishthit hai. jaise is jagat mean niyat kal yathasamay rritu samhbanhdhi gunoan ko prakat kar dikhata hai, usi prakar samasht praniyoanmean ahankar ko hi unake karmoan ka pravartak janana chahiye. ahankar sattvik, rajas aur tamas tin prakar ka hota hai. tamogun moh mean dalane vala tatha anhdhakar ke saman kala hai. use ajnan se uthpanhn hua samajhana chahiye. priti uthpanhn karane vale bhav sattvik hai aur du:kh dene vale rajas. is prakar in samasht trividh gunoan ka shvaroop janana chahiye. ab maian tumhhean sathtagun, rajogun aur tamogun ke kary batata hooan, suno. prasanhnata, harshajanit priti, sandeh ka abhav, dhairy aur shmriti– in sabako sathvagun ke kary samajho. kam, krodh, pramad, lobh, moh, bhay, khlanti, vishad, shok, aprasanhnata, man, darp aur anaryata– inhhean rajogun aur tamogun ke kary samajhana chahiye. inake tatha aise hi doosare doshoan ke b de-chhote ka vichar karake phir is bat ki pariksha kare ki inamean se ek-ek dosh mujhamean hai ya nahian. yadi hai to kitani matra mean hai (is tarah vichar karate hue sabhi doshoan se chhootane ka prayathn karean. yudhishthir ne poochha– pitamah! poorvakal ke mumukshuoan ne kin-kin doshoan ka man ke dvara thyag kiya hai aur kinhhean buddhi ke dvara shithil kiya hai? kaun dosh baanrabar ate haian aur kaun mohavash phal dene mean asamarth se pratit hote hai? vidvan purush apani buddhi tatha yuktiyoan dvara kin doshoan ke balabal ka vichar kare. tat! pitamah! yah mera sanshay hai. ap mujhase isaka vivechan kijiye. bhishhm ji ne kaha- rajan! in doshoan ka mool karan hai ajnan. at: mool sahit in doshoan ka nash ho jane par manushhy ka anht:karan vishuddh ho jata hai. jaise lohe ki bani huee chheni ki dhar lohamayi s aaukal ko katakar shvayan bhi nashht ho jati hai, usi prakar shuddh huee buddhi tamogunajanit sahaj doshoan ko nashht karake unake sath hi shvayan bhi shanht ho jati hai. yadyapi rajogun, tamogun tatha kam, moh adi doshoan se rahit shuddh sathvagun– ye tinoan hi dehadhariyoan ki deh ki uthpatti ke mool karan haian, tathapi jisane apane man ko vash mean kar liya hai, us purush ke liye sathvagun hi samata ka sadhan hai. at: jitathma purush ko rajogun aur tamogun ka thyag hi karana chahiye. in donoan se chhoot jane par buddhi nirmal ho jati hai. athava buddhi ko vash mean karane ke liye shashtravihit manhtrayukht yajnadi karm ko kuchh log dosh yukht batate hai; parantu vah manhtrayukht yajnadi dharm bhi nishhkamabhav se kiye jane par vairaghy ka hetu hai. tatha shuddh dharm–sham, dam adi ke niranhtar palan mean bhi vahi nimitt banata hai. manushhy rajogun ke adhin hone par usake dvara bhaanti-bhaanti ke adharmayukht evan arthayukht karm karane lagata hai, tatha vah samhpoorn bhogoan ka athyanht asaktipoorvak sevan karata hai. tamogun dvara manushhy krodh aur krodhajanit karmoan ka sevan karata haian, hiansathmak karmoan mean usaki vishesh asakti ho jati hai, tatha vah har samay nidra-tanhdra se ghira rahata hai. sathvagun mean sthit hua purush shuddh sattvik bhavoan ko hi dekhata aur unhhian ka ashray leta hai. vah athyanht nirmal aur kantiman hota hai. usamean shraddha aur vidya ki pradhanata hoti hai. is prakar shrimahabharat shantiparv ke anhtargat mokshadharmaparvamean shrikrishhn samhbanhdhi adhhyathm kathan vishayak do sau barahavaan adhhyay poora hua.
