he arjun! jis kal mean[1]sharir tyagakar gaye hue yogijan[2]to vapas n lautane vali gati ko aur jis kal mean gaye hue vapas lautane vali gati ko hi prapt hote hai, us kal ko arthath donoan margoan ko kahooanga. jis marg mean jyotirmay agni[3]abhimani devata[4]hai, din ka abhimani devata hai, shukl[5]paksh ka abhimani devata hai aur uttarayan[6]ke chh: mahinoan ka abhimani devata hai, us marg mean marakar gaye hue brahmavetta[7]yogijan uparyukt devataoan-dvara kram se le jaye jakar brahm ko[8]prapt hote haian

jis marg mean dhoomabhimani[9]devata hai, ratri[10]-abhimani devata hai tatha krishh‍napaksh[11] ka abhimani devata hai or dakshinayan[12]ke chh: mahinoan ka abhimani devata hai, us marg mean marakar gaya hua sakam karm karane vala yogi[13]uparyukt devataoan dvara kram se le gaya hua chandrama ki jyotiko[14]prapt hokar svarg mean apane shubhakarmoan ka phal bhogakar vapas ata hai.[15]

kyoanki jagath ke ye do prakar ke- shukl aur krishh‍n arthath devayan aur pitriyan marg sanaman mane gaye hai.[16]inamean ek ke dvara gaya hua[17]-jisase vapas nahian lautana p data, us param gati ko prapt hota hai aur doosare ke dvara gaya hua[18] phir vapas ata hai arthath janm-mrityu ko prapt hota hai. he parth! is prakar in donoan margoan ko tattv se janakar koee bhi yogi mohit nahian hota.[19]is karan he arjun! too sab kal mean samabu‍di roopi yog se ho[20]arthath nirantar meri prapti ke liye sadhan karane vala ho. yogi purush is rahasy ko tattv se janakar[21]vedoan ke padhane mean tatha yajn‚ tap aur danadi ke karane mean jo punyaphal kaha hai‚ us sabako niahsandeh ullaghan kar jata hai[22]aur sanatan param padako prapt hota hai.

  1. yahaan ‘kal shabd us marg ka vachak hai, jisamean kalabhimani bhinn-bhinn devataoan ka apani-apani sima tak adhikar haian; kyoanki is adhh‍yay ke chhabbisavean shh‍lok mean isi ko ‘shukl’ aur ‘krishh‍n’ do prakar ki ‘gati’ ke nam se aur sattaeesavean shh‍lok mean ‘sriti’ ke nam se kaha hai. ve donoan hi shabd margavachak haian. isake siva ‘agni:’,’jyoti:’, aur ‘dhoom:’ pad bhi samay vachak nahian haian. atev chaubisavean aur pachisavean shh‍lokoan mean aye hue ‘tatr’ pad ka arth ‘samay’ manana uchit nahian hoga. isiliye yahaan ‘kal’ shabd ka arth kalabhimani devataoan se sambandh rakhane vala ‘marg’ manana hi thik hai. sansar mean log jo din, shuklapaksh aur uttarayan ke samay marana achchha samajhate haian, yah samajhana bhi ek prakar se thik hi haian; kyoanki us samay us-us kalabhimani devataoan ke sath tatkal sambandh ho jata haian. at: us samay marane vala yogi gantavy sthan tak shighr aur sugamata se pahuanch jata haian. par isase yah nahian samajh lena chahiye ki ratri ke samay marane vala tatha krishh‍n paksh mean aur dakshinayan ke chh: mahinoan mean marane vala archimarg se nahian jata; balki yah samajhana chahiye ki chahe jis samay marane par bhi, vah jis marg se jane ka adhikari hoga, usi marg se jayaga.
  2. ’yogijan’ se yah bat samajhani chahiye ki jo sadharan manushh‍y isi lok mean ek yoni se doosari yoni mean badalane vale haian ya jo narakadi mean janane vale haian, unaki gati ka yahaan varnan nahian hai.
  3. yahaan ‘jyoti:’ pad ‘agni:’ ka visheshan hai aur ‘agni:’ pad agni-‍abhimani devata ka vachak haian. upanishadoan mean isi devata ko ‘archi:’ kaha gaya hai. isaka svaroop divy prakashamay hai, prithh‍vi ke oopar samudr sahit sab desh mean isaka adhikar hai tatha uttarayan-marg mean jane vale adhikari ka din ke abhimani devata se sambandh kara dena hi isaka kam hai. uttarayan marg se jane vala jo upasak ratri mean sharir tyag karata hai, use yah ratabhar apane adhikar mean rakhakar din ke uday hone par din ke abhimani devata ke adhin kar deta hai aur jo din mean marata hai, use turant hi din ke abhimani devata ko sauanp deta hai.
  4. ’ah:’ pad din ke abhimani devata ka vachak hai, isaka svaroop agni-‍abhimani devata ki apeksha bahut adhik divy prakashamay hai. jahaan t‍k prithh‍vi-lok ki sima hai arthath jitani door tak akash mean prithh‍vi ke vayumanh‍dal ka sambandh hai, vahaan tak isaka adhikar hai aur uttarayan marg mean jane vale upasak ko shukl paksh ke abhimani devata se sambandh kara dena hi isaka kam hai. abhipray yah hai ki upasak yadi krishh‍n paksh mean marata hai to shukl paksh ane t‍k use yah apane adhikar mean rakhakar aur yadi shukl paksh mean marata hai to turant hi apani sima tak le jakar use shukl paksh ke abhimani devata ke adhin kar deta hai.
  5. ’shukl:’ pad shuklapakshabhimani devata ka vachak hai. isaka svaroop din ke abhimani devata se bhi adhik divy prakashamay hai. bhoolok ki sima se bahar antarikshalok mean- jin pitri-lokoan mean pandrah din ke din aur utane hi samay ki ratri hoti hai, vahaan tak isaka adhikar hai aur uttarayan marg se jane vale adhikari ko apani sima se par karake uttarayan ke abhimani devata ke adhin kar dena isaka kam hai. yah bhi pahale valoan ki bhaanti yadi sadhak dakshinayan mean isake adhikar mean ata hai to uttarayan ka samay ane tak use apane adhikar mean rakhakar aur yadi uttarayan mean ata hai to turant hi apani sima se par karake uttarayan-abhimani devata ke adhikar mean sauanp deta hai.

  7. is shh‍lok mean ‘brahmavid:’ pad nirgun brahm ke tattv ko ya sagun parameshh‍var ke gun, prabhav, tattv or svaroop ko shastr aur acharyoan ke upadeshanusar shraddhapoorvak parokshabhav se janane vale upasakoan ka tatha nishh‍kam bhav se karm karane vale karm yogiyoan ka vachak haian. yahaan ka ‘brahmavid:’ pad parabrahm paramatma ko prapt jnani mahatmaoan ka vachak nahian hai; kyoanki unake liye ek sthan se doosare sthan mean gaman ka varnan upayukt nahian hai. shruti mean bhi kaha hai- ‘n tasy prana hyatkramanti’ (brihadaranh‍yak up0 4/46), ‘atraiv samavaliyante’ (brihadaranh‍yak up0 3/2/11), ‘brahyaiv sanh brahmapyeti’ (brihadaranh‍yak up0 4/4/6) arthat ‘kyoanki usake pran utkranti ko nahian prapt hote- sharir se nikalakar anyatr nahian jate’, ‘yahian par lin ho jate haian’, ‘vah brahm hua hi brahm ko prapt kar leta hai.’
  8. yahaan ‘brahm’ shabd sagun parameshh‍var ka vachak hai. unake kabhi nash n hone vale nity dhamean, jise satyalok, param dham, saketalok, golok, vaikunh‍thalok adi namoan se kaha hai, pahuanchakar bhagavanh ko pratyaksh kar lena hi unako prapt hona hai.
  9. yahaan ‘dhoom:’ pad dhoomabhimani devata ka arthath andhakar ke abhimani devata ka vachak hai. usaka svaroop andhakaramay hota hai. agni-abhimani devata ki bhaanti prithh‍vi ke oopar samudr sahit samast desh mean isaka bhi adhikar hai tatha dakshinayan marg se jane vale sadhakoan ko ratri-abhimani devata ke pas pahuancha dena isaka kam hai. dakshinayan-marg se jane vala jo sadhak din mean mar jata haian, use yah din bhar apane adhikar mean rakhakar ratri ka arambh hote hi ratri-abhimani devata ko sauanp deta hai aur jo ratri mean marata hai, use turant hi ratri-abhimani devata ke adhin kar deta hai.
  10. yahaan ‘ratri:’ pad ko bhi ratri ke abhimani devata ka hi vachak samajhana chahiye. isaka svaroop andhakaramay hota hai. din ke abhimani devata ki bhaanti isaka adhikar bhi jahaan tak prithh‍vi lok ki sima hai, vahaan tak hai. bhed itana hi hai ki prithh‍vi lok mean jis samay jahaan din rahata hai, vahaan din ke abhimani devata ka adhikar rahata hai aur jis samay jahaan ratri rahati hai, vahaan ratri-‍abhimani devata ka adhikar rahata hai. dakshinayan marg se jane vale sadhak ko pri‍thh‍vi lok ki sima se par karake antariksh mean krishh‍n paksh ke abhimani devata ke adhin kar dena isaka kam hai. yadi vah sadhak shukl paksh mean rahata hai, tab to use krishh‍n paksh ke ane tak apane adhikar mean rakhakar or yadi krishh‍n paksh mean marata hai to turant hi apane adhikar se par karake krishh‍n paksh‍abhimani devata ke adhin kar deta hai.
  11. krishh‍napakshabhimani devata ka vachak yahaan ‘krishh‍n:’ pad hai. isaka svaroop bhi andhakaramay heata hai. prithh‍vi-manh‍dal ki sima ke bahar antariksh lok mean, jin pitri lokoan mean pandrah din ka din aur utane hi samay ki ratri heati hai, vahaan tak isaka bhi adhikar hai. bhed itana hi hai ki jis samay jahaan us lok mean shukl paksh rahata hai, vahaan shuhklapakshabhimani devata ka adhikar rahata hai or jahaan krishan paksh rahata hai, vahaan krishh‍napakshabhimani devata ka adhikar rahata hai. dakshinayan-marg se svarg mean jane vale sadhakoan ko dakshinayanabhimani devata ke adhin kar dena isaka kam hai. jo dakshinayan-marg ka adhikari sadhak uttarayan ke samay isake adhikar mean ata hai, use dakshinayan ka samay ane tak apane adhikar mean rakhakar aur jo dakshinayan ke samay ata hai, use turant hi yah apane adhikar se par karake dakshinayanabhimani devata ke pas pahuancha deta hai.

  13. svargadi ke liye punh‍y‍karm karane vala purush bhi apani aihik bhogoan ki pravriti ka nirodh karata hai, is drishti se use bhi ‘yogi’ kahana uchit hai. isake siva yogabhrashh‍t purush bhi is marg se svarg mean jakar vahaan kuchh kal tak nivas karake vapas lautate haian. ve bhi isi marg se jane valoan mean hai. at: unako ‘yogi’ kahana uchit hi hai. yahaan ‘yogi’ shabd ka prayog karake yah bat bhi dikhalayi gayi hai ki yah marg papakarm karane vale tamas manushh‍yoan ke liye nahian hai, uchch loko ki prapti ke adhikari shastriy karm karane vale purushoan ke liye hi hai.   14. chandrama ke lok mean usake abhimani devata ka svaroop shital prakashamay hai. usi ke jaise prakashamay svaroop ka nam ‘jyoti’ hai aur vaise hi svaroop ko prapt ho jana-chandrama ki jyoti ko prapt hona hai. vahaan jane vala sadhak us lok mean shital prakashamay divy devasharir pakar apane punh‍yakarmoan ke phalasvaroop divy bhogoan ko bhogata hai.
  15. chandrama ki jyoti ko prapt hokar vahaan rahane ka niyat samay samapt ho jane par is mrityu lok mean vapas a jana hi vahaan se lautana hai. jin karmoan ke phalasvaroop svarg or vahaan ke bhog prapt hote haian, unaka bhog samapt ho jane se jab ve kshin ho jate haian, tab prani ko badhh‍y hokar vahaan se vapas lotana p data hai. vah chandralok se akash mean ata haian, vahaan se vayuroop ho jata hai, phir dhoom ke akash mean parinat ho jata hai, dhoom se badal mean ata hai, badal se megh banata hai, isake anantar jal ke roop mean prithh‍vi par barasata hai, vahaan gehooan, jau, til, u dad adi bijoan mean ya vanaspatiyoan mean pravishh‍t hota hai. unake dvara purush ke viry mean pravishh‍t hokar stri ki yoni mean siancha jata hai aur apane karmanusar yoni ko pakar janm grahan karata hai.   16. chorasi lakh yoniyoan mean bhatakate-bhatakate kabhi-n-kabhi bhagavanh daya karake jivamatr ko manushh‍y sharir dekar apane tatha devataoan ke lokoan mean jane ka suavasar dete hai. us samay yadi vah jivan ka sadupayog kare to donoan mean se kisi ek marg ke dvara gantavy sthan ko avashh‍y prapt kar sakata hai. atev prakarant se pranimatr ke sath in donoan margoan ka sambandh hai. ye marg sada se hi samast praniyoan ke liye haian aur sadaiv raheange. isiliye inako shashrvat kaha hai. yadyapi mahapralay mean jab samast lok bhagavanh mean lin ho jate haian, us samay ye marg or inake devata bhi lin ho jate haian, tathapi jab pun: srishti hoti hai, tab poorv ki bhaanti hi inaka pun: nirman ho jata haian. at: inako ‘shashrvat’ kahane mean koee dosh nahian hai.
  17. arthath isi adhh‍yay ke 24 vean shh‍lok ke anusar archimarg se gaya hua yogi.
  18. arthath isi adhh‍yay ke 25 vean shh‍lok ke anusar dhoomamarg se gaya hua sakam karmayogi.
  19. yogasadhana mean laga hua bhi manushh‍y in margoan ka tattv n janane ke karan svabhav vash is lok ya paralok ke bhogoan mean asakt hokar sadhan se bhrashh‍t ho jata hai, yahi usaka mohit hona haian; kiantu jo in donoan margoan ko tattv se janana he, vah phir brahmalok paryant samast lokoan ke bhogoan ko nashavanh or tuchchh samajh lene ke karan kisi bhi prakar ke bhogoan mean asakt nahian hota evan nirantar parameshh‍var ki prapti ke hi sadhan mean laga rahata hai. yahi usaka mohit n hona haian.
  20. yahaan bhagavanh ne jo arjun ko sab kal mean yog yukt hone ke lie kaha hai‚ yah bhav hai ki manushy jivan bahut tho de hi dinoan ka haian‚mrityu ka kuchh bhi pata nahian hai ki kab a jay. yadi apane jivan ke pratyek kshan ko sadhan mean lagaye rakhane ka prayatn nahian kiya jayega to sadhan bich-bich mean chhootata rahega aur yadi kahian sadhanahin avastha mean mrityu ho jayegi to yog bhrasht hokar punah janm grahan karana p dega. atev manushy ko bhavagath prapti ke sadhan mean nity - nirantar lage hi rahana chahiye.
  21. is adhyay mean varnit shiksha ko arthath‍ bhagavanh‍ ke sagun-nirgun aur sakar- nirakar svaroop ki upasana ki‚ bhagavanh ke gun‚prabhav aur mahatmyako evan kis prakar sadhan karane se manushy paramatma ko prapt kar sakata hai‚kaha jakar manushy ko lautana p data hai aur kahaan pahॅuch jane ke bad punarjanm nahian hota‚ ityadi jitani batean is adhyay mean batalayi gayi haian‚ un sabako bhali-bhaanti samajh lena hi use tattv se janana hai.
  22. haan ‘vedʼ shabd aangoan sahit charoan vedoan ka aur unake anukool samast shastroan ka, ‘yajn‘ shastravihit poojan, havan adi sab prakar ke yajnoan ka, ‘tap‘, vrat, upavas, indriyasanyam, svadharmapalan adi sabhi prakar ke shastravihit tapoan ka aur ‘dan‘ annadan, vidyadan, kshetradan adi sab prakar ke shastravihit dan evan paropakar ka vachak hai. shradah-bhaktipoorvak sakamabhav se ved-shastroan ka svadhyay tatha yady, dan aur tap adi shubh karmo ka anushthan karane se jo punyasanchay hota hai, us puny ka jo brahmalokaryant bhinn - bhinn devalokoan ki aur vahaan ke bhogoan ki prapti roop phal ved - shastroan mean batalaya gaya hai, vahi punyaphal hai evan jo un sab lokoan ko aur unake bhogoan ko kshan bhaguanr tatha anity samajhakar unamean asakt n hona aur unase sarvatha uparat ho jana hai, yahi (shrimadragavadritayaan navamoadhyay) unako ullaghann kar jana hai.
