kanh‍ya ke kutumh‍bijanoan ki anumati milane par vaivahik manh‍tr aur hom ka prayog karana chahiye, tabhi ve manh‍tr siddh (saphal) hote haian, arthat vah manh‍troan dvara vivah kiya hua mana jata hai. jis kanh‍ya ka mata-pita ke dvara dan nahian kiya gaya, usake liye kiye gaye manh‍tr-prayog kisi tarah siddh nahian hote, arthat vah vivah manh‍troan dvara kiya hua nahian mana jata. pati aur path‍ni mean parash‍par manh‍trochh‍charanapoorvak jo pratijna hoti hai, vahi shreshh‍th mani jati hai aur yadi usake liye banh‍dhu-banh‍dhavoan ka samarthan praph‍t ho, tab to aur uttam bat hai. dharmashash‍tr ki ajna ke anusar nh‍yayat: praph‍t huee path‍ni ko pati apane prarabh‍dhakarm ke anusar mili huee bharya samajhata hai. is prakar vah daivayog se praph‍t huee path‍ni ko grahan karata hai tatha manushh‍yoan ki jhoothi bat ko, us vivah ko ayogh‍y batane vali varta ko agrahy kar deta hai.

yudhishthir ne poochha- pitamah! yadi ek var se kanh‍ya ka vivah pakh‍ka karake usaka moolh‍y le liya gaya ho aur pichhe usase bhi shreshh‍th dharm, arth aur kam se samh‍panh‍n ath‍yanh‍t yogh‍y var mil jaye to pahale jisase moolh‍y liya gaya hai, usase jhooth bolana-usako kanh‍ya dene se iankar kar dena chahiye ya nahian? isamean donoan dashaoan mean dosh praph‍t hota hai. yadi banh‍dhujanoan ki samh‍mati se moolh‍y lekar nishchit kiye hue vivah ko ulat diya jaye to vachan-bhang ka dosh lagata hai aur shreshh‍th var ka ulh‍laghann karane se kanh‍ya ke hit ko hani pahuanchane ka dosh praph‍t hota hai. aisi dasha mean kanh‍yadata kh‍ya kare, jisase vah kalh‍yan ka bhagi ho? ham to samh‍poorn dharmoan mean is kanh‍yadanaroop dharm ko hi adhik chinh‍tan arthat vichar ke yogh‍y manate haian. ham is vishay mean yatharth tath‍v ko janana chahate haian. ap hamare path pradarshak hoiye. in sab batoan ko sh‍pashh‍t roop se bataiye. maian apaki batean sunane se triph‍t nahian ho raha hooan. at: ap is vishay ka pratipadan kijiye.

bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- rajan! moolh‍y de dene se hi vivah ka antim nishh‍chay nahian ho jata (usamean parivartan ki samh‍bhavana rahati hi hai). yah samajhakar hi moolh‍y dene vala moolh‍y deta hai aur phir use vapas nahian maangata. sajh‍jan purush kabhi-kabhi moolh‍y lekar bhi kisi vishesh karanavash kanh‍yadan nahian karate haian. kanh‍ya ke bhaee-banh‍dhu kisi se moolh‍y tabhi maangate haian, jab vah viparit gun (adhik avash‍tha adi) se yukh‍t hota hai. yadi var ko bulakar kaha jaye ki ‘tum meri kanh‍ya ko abhooshan pahanakar isake sath vivah kar lo' aur aisa kahane par vah usake lie abhooshan dekar vivah kare to yah dharmanukool hi hai. kyoanki is prakar jo kanh‍ya ke liye abhooshan lekar kanh‍yadan kiya jata hai, vah n to moolh‍y hai aur n vikray hi; isaliye kanh‍ya ke liye koee vash‍tu sh‍vikar karake kanh‍ya ka dan karana sanatan dharm hai. jo log bhinh‍n–bhinh‍n vh‍yaktiyoan se kahate haian ki ‘maian apako apani kanh‍ya dooanga', jo kahate haian ‘nahian dooanga’ aur jo kahate haian ‘avashh‍y dooanga’ unaki ye sabhi batean kanh‍ya dene ke pahale nahian kahi huee ke hi tulh‍y haian.
