uma ne poochha- devadev! mahadev! bhagavan! yah vishay to maianne achchhi tarah sun liya. ab yah bataiye ki atma ka stri ya purush mean kis jati ke sath sambandh hai? jivatma striroop hai ya purusharoop? ek hai ya alag-alag? dev! yah mera sanshay hai. ap isaka nivaran karean.

shrimaheshvar ne kaha- jivatma sada hi nirvikar hai. vah n stri hai n purush. vah karm ke anusar vibhinn jatiyoan mean janm leta hai. purushochit karm karake stri bhi purush ho sakati hai aur stri-bhavana se yukt purush tadanuroop karm karake us karm ke anusar stri ho sakata hai.

uma ne poochha- bhagavan! sarvalokeshvar! yadi atma karm nahian karata to sharir mean doosara kaun karm karane vala hai? yah mujhe bataiye.

shrimaheshvar ne kaha- bhamini! karta kaun hai? yah suno. atma karm nahian karata hai. prakriti ke gunoan se yukt prani dvara hi sada karm kiya jata hai. jagath mean praniyoan ka sharir jaise vat, pitt aur kaph- in tin doshoan se vyapt rahata hai, isi prakar prani sattv, raj aur tam- in gunoan se vyapt hota hai. sattv, raj aur tam- ye tinoan shariradhari ke gun haian. inamean se sattv sada prakashasvaroop mana gaya hai. rajogun duahkharoop aur tamogun moharoop bataya gaya hai. lok mean in tinoan gunoan se yukt karm ki pravritti hoti hai. satyabhashan, praniyoan par daya, shauch, shrey, priti, kshama aur indriyasanyam- ye tatha aise hi any karm bhi sattvik kahalate haian. dakshata, karmaparayanata, lobh, vidhi ke prati moh, stri-sang, madhury tatha sada aishvary ka lobh- ye nana prakar ke bhav aur karm rajogun se prakat hote haian. asatyabhashan, rookhapan, atyant adhirata, hiansa, asaty, nastikata, nidra, alasy aur bhay- ye tatha papayukt karm tamogun se prakat hote haian. isaliye samast shubhashubh karyarambh gunamay haian, atah atma ko vyagratarahit, akarta aur avinashi samajho. sattvik manushy puny lokoan mean jate haian. rajas jiv manushy lok mean sthit hote haian tatha tamoguni manushy pashu-pakshiyoan ki yoni mean aur narak mean sthit hote haian.

uma ne poochha- is sharir ke bhedan se athava shastr dvara mare jane se atma svayan hi kyoan chala jata hai? yah mujhe bataiye.

shrimaheshvar ne kaha- kalyani! isaka karan maian batata hooan, suno. is vishay mean sookshm buddhi vale vidvan bhi mohit ho jate haian. janmadhari praniyoan ke karmoan ka kshay ho jane par is deh mean jis kisi bhi karan se upadrav hone lagata hai, usake karan sharir ka kshay ho jane par dehabhimani jiv karm ke adhin ho us sharir ko tyag kar chala jata hai. sharir kshin hota hai, atma nahian. vah vedanaoan se bhi vichalit nahian hota. jab tak karmaphal shesh rahata hai, tab tak jivatma is sharir mean sthit rahata hai aur karmoan ka kshay hone par punah chala jata hai. adikal se hi is jagath mean atma ki aisi hi gati mani gayi hai.

devi! yah sab vishay tumhean bataya gaya. ab aur kya sunana chahati ho?
