‘jo purush sh‍tri ki raksha karana apana kartavh‍y nahian manata athava jo sh‍tri ki raksha karane mean asamarth hai, vah sansar mean mahan apayash ka bhagi hota hai aur paralok mean jane par use narak mean girana p data hai.’ pati ke aisa kahane par brahmani boli– ‘brahman! ham donoan ke arth aur dharm saman haian, at: ap mujh par prasanh‍n hoan aur mere hish‍se ka yah pav bhar sath‍too le lean ( ise lekar ise atithi ko de dean ).[2]

brahman dvara atithi se sath‍too grahan karane ka anurodh

aj sath‍too lekar tumh‍hean nirahar kaise dekh sakooanga. ek to tum abhi balika ho, doosare bhookh se pi dit ho rahi ho, tisari nari ho aur chauthe upavas karate– karate ath‍yanh‍t dubali ho gayi ho; at: mujhe sada tumh‍hari raksha karani chahiye; kh‍yoanki tum apani sevaoan dvara banh‍dhav janoan ko ananh‍dit karane vali ho. putravadhu boli– bhagavan! ap mere guru ke bhi guru, devataoan ke bhi devata aur samanh‍y devata ki apeksha bhi atishay uth‍krishh‍t devata haian, at: mera diya hua yah sath‍too sh‍vikar kijiye. mera yah sharir, pran aur dharm – sab kuchh b doan ki seva ke liye hi hai. vipravar! ap ke prasad se mujhe uttam lokoan ki praph‍ti ho sakati hai. at: ap mujhe apana dridh bhakh‍t, rakshaniy aur vicharaniy manakar atithi ko dene ke liye yah sath‍too sh‍vikar kijiye. shh‍vashur ne kaha– beti! tum sati– sadhh‍vi nari ho aur sada aise hi shil evan sadachar ka palan karane se tumh‍hari shobha hai. tum dharm tatha vrat ke acharan mean sanlagh‍n hokar sarvada gurujanoan ki seva par hi drishh‍ti rakhati ho; isaliye bahoo! maian tumh‍he punh‍y se vanchit n hone dooanga. dharmath‍maoan mean shreshh‍th mahabhage! punh‍yath‍maoan mean tumh‍hari ginati karake maian tumh‍hara diya hua sath‍too avashh‍y sh‍vikar karooanga.[4]

‘dvijashreshh‍th! brahmalok mean vicharane vale jo brahmarshigan vimanoan mean rahate haian, ve bhi tumh‍hare darshan ki ichh‍chha rakhate haian; isaliye tum sh‍vargalok mean chalo. ‘tumane pitrilok mean gaye hue apane samash‍t pitaroan ka uddhar kar diya. anek yugoan tak bhavishh‍y mean hone vali jo santanean haian, ve bhi tumh‍hare punh‍y– pratap se tar jayangi.’ ‘at: brahman! tum apane brahmachary, dan, yajn, tap tatha sankarata rahit dharm ke prabhav se sh‍vargalok mean chalo. ‘uttam vrat ka palan karane vale brahman shiromane! tum uttam shraddha ke sath tapash‍ya karate ho; isaliye devata tumh‍hare dan se ath‍yant santushh‍t haian. ‘is pran– sankat ke samay bhi yah sab sath‍too tumane shuddh hriday se dan kiya hai; isaliye tumane us punh‍y karm ke prabhav se sh‍vargalok par vijay praph‍t kar li hai. ‘bhookh manushh‍y ki buddhi ko chopat kar deti hai.

dan karane ka varnan

dharmik vicharoan ko mita deti hai. kshudha se jnan luph‍t ho jane ke karan manushh‍y dhiraj kho deta hai. jo bhookh ko jit leta hai, vah nishh‍chay hi sh‍varg par vijay pata hai. ‘jab manushh‍y mean dan vishayak ruchi jagrat hoti hai, tab usake dharm ka hras nahian hota. tumane path‍ni ke prem aur putr ke sh‍neh par bhi drishh‍tipat n karake dharm ko hi shreshh‍th mana hai aur usake samane bhookh– ph‍yas ko bhi kuchh nahian gina hai. ‘manushh‍y ke liye sabase pahale nh‍yayapoorvak dhan ki praph‍ti ka upay janana hi sookshh‍m vishay hai. us dhan ko sath‍patr ki seva mean arpan karana usase bhi shreshh‍th hai.

sadharan samay mean dan dene ki apeksha uttam samay par dan dena aur bhi achh‍chha hai; kiantu shraddha ka mahattv kal se bhi badhakar hai. sh‍varg ka daravaja ath‍yanh‍t sookshh‍m hai. manushh‍y mohavash use dekh nahian pate haian. ‘us sh‍varg dvar ki jo argala (kilh‍li) hai, vah lobharoopi bij se bani huee hai. vah dvar rag ke dvara guph‍t hai, isiliye usake bhitar pravesh karana bahut hi kathin hai. jo log krodh ko jit chuke haian, inh‍driyoan ko vash mean kar chuke haian, ve yathashakh‍ti dan dene vale tapash‍vi brahman hi us dvar ko dekh pate haian.[5]

‘shraddhapoorvak dan dene vale manushh‍y mean yadi ek hajar dene ki shakh‍ti ho to vah sau ka dan kare, sau dene ki shakh‍ti vala das ka dan kare, tatha jisake pas kuchh n ho, vah apani shakh‍ti ke anusar jal hi dan kar de to in sabaka phal barabar mana gaya hai. ‘vipravar! kahate haian, raja rantidev ke pas jab kuchh bhi nahian rah gaya, tab unh‍hoanne shuddh hriday se keval jal ka dan kiya tha. isase ve sh‍vargalok mean gaye the. ‘tat! anh‍yay poorvak praph‍t hue dravh‍y ke dvara mahan phal dene vale b de– b de dan karane se dharm ko utani prasanh‍nata nahian hoti, jitani nh‍yayoparjit tho de– se anh‍n ka bhi shraddhapoorvak dan karane se unh‍hean prasanh‍nata hoti hai. ‘raja nrig ne brahmanoan ko hajaroan gauean dan ki thian; kiantu ek hi gau doosare ki dan kar di, jisake karan anh‍yayat: praph‍t dravh‍y ka dan karane ke karan unh‍hean narak mean jana p da. ‘ushinar ke putr uth‍tam vrat ka palan karane vale raja shibi shraddhapoorvak apane sharir ka maans dekar bhi punh‍yath‍maoan ke lokoan mean arthat sh‍varg mean ananh‍d bhogate haian. ‘vipravar! manushh‍yoan ke liye dhan hi punh‍y ka hetu nahian hai.

sadhu purush apani shakh‍ti ke anusar sugamatapoorvak punh‍y ka arjan kar lete haian. nh‍yay poorvak sanchit kiye hue anh‍n ke dan se jaisa uttam phal praph‍t hota hai, vaisa nan prakar ke yajnoan ka anushh‍than karane se bhi nahian sulabh hota. ‘manushh‍y krodh se apane dan ke phal ko nashh‍t kar deta hai. lobh ke karan vah sh‍varg mean nahian jane pata. nh‍yayoparjit dhan se jivan– nirvah karane vala aur dan ke mahattv ko janane vala purush dan evan tapasya ke dvara sh‍vargalok praph‍t kar leta hai. ‘tumane jo yah dan janit phal praph‍t kiya hai, isaki samata prachur dakshina vale bahusankhh‍yak rajasooy aur anek ashh‍vamedh– yajnoan dvara bhi nahian ho sakati. tumane ser bhar sath‍too ka dan karake akshay brahmalok ko jit liya hai. ‘vipravar! ab tum sukh poorvak rajogun rahit brahmalok mean jao. dvijashreshh‍th! tum sab logoan ke liye yah divh‍y viman upash‍thit hai. ‘brahman! meri or dekho, maian dharm hooan.

tum sab log apani ichh‍chha ke anusar is viman par chadho. tumane apane is sharir ka uddhar kar diya aur lok mean bhi tumh‍hari avichalit kirti bani rahegi. tum path‍ni, putr aur putravadhu ke sath sh‍vargalok ko jao’. dharm k aisa kahane par ve uannchhavrith‍ti vale brahman devata apani path‍ni, putri aur putravadhoo ke sath viman par aroodh ho sh‍vargalok ko chale gaye. ‘sh‍tri, putr aur putravadhoo ke sath ve dharmajn brahman jab sh‍vargalok ko chale gaye, tab maian apani bil se bahar nikala. tadananh‍tar sath‍too ki ganh‍dh sooanghane, vahaan gire hue jal ki kich se samh‍park hone, vahaan gire hue divh‍y pushh‍poan ko rauandane aur un mahath‍ma brahman ke dan karate samay gire hue anh‍n ke kanoan mean man lagane se tatha un uannchhavrith‍tidhari brahman ki tapash‍ya ke prabhav se mera mash‍tak sone ka ho gaya.[6]

vipravaro! un sath‍y pratijn brahman ke sath‍too dan ne mera yah adha sharir bhi suvarnamay ho gaya. un buddhiman brahman ki tapash‍ya se mujhe jo yah mahan phal praph‍t hua hai, use ap log apani aankhoan se dekh lijiye. brahmanoan! ab maian is chinh‍ta mean p da ki mere sharir ka doosara parshh‍v bhi kaise aisa hi ho sakata hai ? isi uddeshh‍y se maian b de harsh aur uth‍sah ke sath baranbar anekanek tapovanoan aur yajn sh‍thaloan man jaya– aya karata hooan. param buddhiman kururaj yudhishh‍thir ke is yajn ka b da bhari shor sunakar maian b di asha lagaye yahaan aya tha; kinh‍tu mera sharir yahaan sone ka n ho saka.

brahman shiromaniyo! isi se maianne hansakar kaha tha ki yah yajn brahman ke diye hue ser bhar sath‍too ke barabar bhi nahian hai. sarvatha aisi hi bat hai. kh‍yoanki us samay ser bhar sath‍too mean se gire hue kuchh kanoan ke prabhav se mera adha sharir suvarnamay ho gaya tha; paranh‍tu yah mahan yajn bhi mujhe vaisa n bana saka; at: mere mat mean yah yajn un ser bhar sath‍too ke kanoan ke saman bhi nahian haian. un samash‍t shreshh‍th brahmanoan se aisa kahakar ve nevala vahaan se gayab ho gaya aur ve brahman bhi apane– apane ghar chale gaye. shatru nagari par vijay pane vale janamejay! vahaan ashh‍vamedh namak mahayajn mean jo ashh‍chary janak ghatana ghatit huee thi, ve sara prasang maianne tumh‍hean bata diya.

nareshh‍var! us yajn ke samh‍banh‍dh mean aisi ghatana sunakar tumh‍hean kisi prakar vish‍may nahian karana chahiye. sahash‍troan koti aise rrishi ho gaye haian, jo yajn n karake keval tapash‍ya ke hi bal se divh‍y lok ko praph‍t ho chuke haian. kisi bhi prani se droh n karana, man mean santosh rakhana, shil aur sadachar ka palan karana, sabake prati saralatapoorn bartav karana, tapash‍ya karana, man aur inh‍driyoan ko sanyam mean rakhana, sath‍y bolana aur nh‍yayoparjit vash‍tu ka shraddha poorvak dan karana– inamean se ek– ek gurn b de– b de yajnoan ke saman haian.[7]
