sambandh-gita ke doosare adhyay ke gyarahavean shlok se gita ke upadesh ka arambh hua. vahaan se arambh karake tisavean shlok tak bhagavanh ne arjun ko jnan yog ka upadesh diya. aur prasangavash kshatradharm ki drishti se yuddh karane ki kartavyata ka pratipadan karake unchalisavean shlok se lekar adhyay ki samapti paryant karmayog ka upadesh diya, usake bad tisare adhyay se satarahavean adhyay tak kahian jnanayog ki drishti se aur kahi karmayog ki drishti se paramatma ki prapti ke bahut se sadhan batalaye. un sabako sunane ke anantar ab arjun is atharahavean adhyay mean samast adhyayoan ke upadesh ka sar janane ke uddeshy se bhagavanh ke samane sannyas yani jnanayog ka aur tyag yani phalasakti ke tyagaroop karmayog ka tattv bhalibhaanti alag-alag janane ki ichchha prakat karate haian- arjun bole- he mahabaho! he antaryaminh! he vasudev! maian sannyas aur tyag ke tattv ko prithakh-prithak janana chahata hooan.[2]

shribhagavanh bole- he arjun! kitane hi panditajan to kamy karmoan ke[3] tyag ko sannyas samajhate haian tatha doosare vicharakushal purush sab karmoan ke phal ke tyag ko tyag kahate haian.[4] kee ek vidvan aisa kahate haian ki karmamatr doshayukt hai, isaliye tyagane ke yogy hai[5] aur doosare vidvan yah kahate haian ki yajn, dan aur tap roop karm tyagane yogy nahian hai.[6]

krishn ka tyag ke vishay mean arjun ko batalana

sambandh- is prakar sannyas aur tyag ke vishayoan mean vidvanoan ke bhinn-bhinn mat batalakar ab bhagavanh tyag ke vishay mean apana nishchay batalana arambh karate haian, krishn kahate haian- he purush arjun! sannyas aur tyag, in donoan mean se pahale tyag ke vishay mean too mera nishchay sun; kh‍yoanki tyag sattvik, rajas aur tamas-bhed se tin prakar ka kaha gaya hai. yajn, dan aur taparoop karm tyag karane ke yogy nahian hai, balki vah to avashy kartavy hai[7] kh‍yoanki yajn, dan aur tap- ye tinoan hi karm buddhiman purushoan ko pavitr karane vale hai.[1] isaliye he parth! in yajn, dan aur taparoop karmoan ko tatha aur bhi sampoorn kartavy karmoan ko asakti aur phaloan ka tyag karake avashy karana chahiye yah mera nishchay kiya hua uttam mat hai.[8][9]

sambandh-ab tin shlokoan mean kram se uparyukt tin prakar ke tyagoan ke lakshan batalate haian-(nishiddh aur kamy karmoan ka to svaroop se tyag karana uchit hi hai) parantu niyat karm ka svaroop se tyag uchit nahian hai.[10] isaliye moh ke karan usaka tyag kar dena tamas tyag kaha gaya hai.[11] jo kuchh karm hai vah sab duahkhasvaroop hi hai-aisa samajh kar yadi koee sharirik klesh ke bhay se kartavy karmoan ka tyag kar de,[12] to vah aisa rajas tyag karake tyag ke phal ko kisi prakar bhi nahian pata.[13] he arjun! jo shastravihit karm karana kartavy hai- isi bhav se asakti aur phal ka tyag karake kiya jata hai- vahi sattvik tyag mana gaya hai.[14]

sambandh-upayukt prakar se sattvik tyag karane vale purush ka nishiddh aur kamyakarmoan svaroop se chhodane mean aur kartavy karmoan ke karane mean kaisa bhav rahata hai, is jijnasa par sattvik tyagi purush ki aantim sthiti ke lakshan batalate hai’- jo manushy akushal karm se to dvesh nahian karata[15] aur kushal karm mean asakt nahian hota,[16] vah shuddh sattvagun se yukt purush sanshayarahit, buddhimanh aur sachcha tyagi hai.[17] kh‍yoanki shariradhari kisi bhi manushy ke dvara sampoornata se sab karmoan ka tyag kiya jana shaky nahian hai;[18] isaliye jo karmaphal ka tyagi hai, vahi tyagi hai- yah kaha jata hai.[19] karmaphal ka tyag n karane vale manushyoan ke karmoan ka to achchha, bura aur mila hua- aise tin prakar ka phal marane ke pashchath avashy hota hai;[20] kiantu karmaphal ka tyag kar dene vale manushyoan ke karmoan ka phal kisi kal mean bhi nahian hota.[21][9]

krishn ka saankhyayog tattv ke vishay mean arjun ko samajhana

sambandh-pahale shlok mean arjun ne sannyas aur tyag ka tattv alag-alag janane ki ichchha prakat ki thi. usaka uttar dete hue bhagavanh ne doosare aur tisare shlokoan mean is vishay par vidvanoan ke bhinn-bhinn mat batalakar apane mat ke anusar chauthe shlok se barahavean shlok tak tyag ka yani karmayog ka tattv bhalibhaanti samajhaya ab sanyas ka yani saankhyayog ka tattv samajhane ke liye pahale saankhy-siddhant ke anusar karmoan ko siddhi mean paanch hetu batalate hai- he mahabaho! samh‍poorn karmoan ki siddhi ye paanch hetu karmoan ka ant karane ke liye upay batalane vale saankhy-shastr mean kahe gaye haian, unako too mujhase bhalibhaanti jan. is vishay mean arthat karmoan ki siddhi mean adhishthan[22] aur karta[23] tatha bhinn-bhinn prakar ke karan[24] evan nana prakar ki alag-alag cheshtaean[25] aur vaise hi paanchavaan hetu daiv[26] hai. manushy,[27] man, vani aur sharir se shastranukool athava viparit jo kuchh bhi karm karata hai, usake ye paanchoan karan haian.[28]

sambandh- is prakar saankhyayog ke siddhant se samast karmoan ki siddhi adhishthanadi paanch karanoan ka niroopan karake ab, vastav mean atma ka karmoan se koee sambandh nahian hai, atma sarvatha shuddh nirvikar aur akarta hai- yah bat samajhane ke liye atma ko karta manane vale ki nianda karake akarta manane vale ki stuti karate haian. parantu aisa hone par bhi jo manushy ashuddh buddhi hone ke karan us vishay mean yani karmoan ke hone mean keval shuddhasvaroop atma ko karta samajhata hai, vah malin buddhivala ajnani yatharth nahian samajhata.[29] jis purush ke antahkaran ‘maian karta hooan’ aisa bhav nahian hai[30] tatha jisaki buddhi saansarik padarthoan mean aur karmoan mean lipayaman nahian hoti[31] vah purush in sab lokoan ko marakar bhi vastav mean n to marata hai aur n pap se bandhata hai.[32][33]

    uttar mean bhagavanh is adhyay ke terahavean se satarahavean shlok tak sannyas (jnanayog) ka svaroop batalaya hai. unnisavean se chalisavean shlok tak jo sattvik bhav aur karm batalaye haian, ve isake sadhan mean upayogi hai aur rajas, tamas isake virodhi hai. pachasavean se pachapanavean tak upasana sahit saankhyayog ki vidhi aur phal batalaya hai tatha satarahavean shlok mean keval saankhyayog ka sadhan karane ka prakar batalaya hai.
    isi prakar chhathe shlok mean (phalasakti tyagaroop) karmayog ka svaroop batalaya hai. navean shlok mean sattvik tyag ke nam se keval karmayog ke sadhan ki pranali batalayi hai. saitalisavean aur adatalisavean shloko mean svadharm ke palan ko is sadhan mean upayogi batalaya hai aur satavean tatha athavean shloko mean varnit tamas, rajas tyag ko isamean badhak batalaya hai. paitalisavean aur chhiyalisavean shlokoan mean bhaktimishrit karmayog ka aur chhappanavean se chhachhathavean shlok tak bhaktipradhan karmayog ka varnan hai. chhiyalisavean shlok mean laukik aur shastriy samast karm karate hue bhaktimishrit karmayog ke sadhan karane ki riti batalayi hai aur sattavanavean shlok mean bhagavanh ne bhaktipradhan karmayog ke sadhan karane ki riti batalayi haian.
  3. stri, purush, dhan aur svargadi priy vastuoan ki prapti ke liye aur rog sankatadi apriy ki nivritti ke liye yajn, dan, tap aur upasana adi jin shubh karmoan ka shastroan mean vidhan kiya gaya hai- aise shubh karmoan ka nam ‘kamyakarm’ hai.

  5. arambh (kriya) matr mean hi kuchh-n-kuchh pap ka sambandh ho jata hai, atah vihit karm bhi sarvatha nirdosh nahian hai is bhav ko lekar kitane hi vidvanoan ka kahana hai ki kalyan chahane vale manushy ko nity, naimittik aur kamy adi sabhi karmoan ka svaroop tyag kar dena chahiye.
  6. bahut-se vidvanoan ke mat mean yajn, dan, taparoop karm vastav mean doshayukt nahian hai. ve manate haian ki un karmoan ke nimitt kiye jane vale arambh mean jin avashyambhavi hiansadi papoan ka hona dekha jata hai, ve vastav mean pap nahian hai. isaliye kalyan chahane vale manushy ko nishiddh karmoan ka hi tyag karana chahiye, shastravihit kartavy karmoan ka tyag nahian karana chahiye.
  7. shastroan mean apane apane varn aur ashram ke anusar jisake liye jis karm ka vidhan hai- jisako jis samay jis prakar yajn karane ke liye, dan dene ke liye aur tap karane ke liye kaha gaya hai- use usaka tyag nahian karana chahiye, yani shastr-ajna ki avahelana nahian karani chahiye; kh‍yoanki is prakar ke tyag se kisi prakar ka labh hona to door raha, ulta pratyavay hota hai. isaliye in karmoan ka anushthan manushy ko avashy karana chahiye.

  10. varn, ashram, svabhav aur paristhiti ki apeksha se jis manushy ke liye yajn, dan, tap, adhyayan-adhyapan, upadesh, yuddh, prajapalan, pashupalan, krishi, vyapar, seva aur khan-pan adi jo-jo karm shastroan mean avashyakartavy batalaye gaye haian, usake liye ve niyat karm hai. aise karmoan ka svaroop se tyag karane vala manushy apane kartavy ka palan n karane ke karan pap ka bhogi hota hai; kh‍yoanki isase karmoan ki parampara toot jati haian; kh‍yoanki isase karmoan ki parampara toot jati hai aur samast jagat mean viphal ho jata hai. (gita 3/23/24) isaliye niyat karmoan ka svaroop se tyag uchit nahian hai.
  11. kartavy karm ke tyag ko bhool se mukti ka hetu samajhakar tyag karana mohapoorvak hone ke karan tamas tyag hai; isaliye uparyukt tyag aisa tya nahian hai; jisake karane se manushy karmabandhan se mukt ho jata hai. yah to pratyavay ka hetu hone se ulh‍ta adhogati ko le jane vala hai.
  12. kartavy karmoan ke anushthan mean man, indriy aur sharir ko parishram hota hai; anek prakar ke vighn upasthit hote haian; bahut si samragi ekatr karani p dati hai; sharir ke aram ka tyag karana p data hai; vrat,upavas adi karake kasht sahan karana p data hai aur bahut-se bhinn-bhinn niyamoan ka palan karana p data hai-is karan samast karmoan ko duahkh roop samajhakar man, indriy aur sharir ke parishram se bachane ke liye tatha aram karane ki ichchha se jo yajn, dan aur tap adi shastravihit karmoan ka tyag karana hai- yahi unako duahkharoop samajhakar sharirik klesh ke bhay se unaka tyag karana hai.
  13. jab tak manushy man, indriy aur sharir mean mamata aur asakti rahati hai, tab tak vah kisi prakar bhi karm-bandhan se mukt nahian ho sakata. atah yah rajas tyag namamatr ka hi tyag hai, sachcha tyag nahian hai. isaliye kalyan chahane vale sadhanoan ko aisa tyag nahian karana chahiye; kh‍yoanki man, indriy aur sharir ke aram mean asakti hona rajogun-ka kary hai. atev aisa tyag karane vala manushy vastavik tyag ke phal ko, jo ki samast karmabandhanoan se chhootakar paramatma ko pa lena hai, nahian pata.
  14. varn, ashram, svabhav aur paristhiti ki apeksha se jis manushy ke liye jo jo karmashastr mean avashy kartavy batalaye gaye haian, ve samast karm hi niyam karm hai, nishiddh aur kagy karm niyat karm nahian haian. niyat karmoan ko n karana bhagavanh ki ajna ka ullanghan karana hai- is bhav se bhavit hokar un karmoan mean aur unake phalaroop is lok aur paralok ke samast bhogoan mean mamata, asakti aur kamana ka sarvatha tyag karake utsahapoorvak vidhivath unako karate rahana hi sattvik tyag hai; kh‍yoanki karmoan ke phalaroop is lok aur paralok ke bhogoan mean asaktiaur kamana ka tyag hi vastavik tyag hai. tyag ka parinam karmoan se sarvatha sambandh vichchhed hona chahiye aur yah parinam mamata, asakti aur kamana ke tyag se hi ho sakata hai-keval svaroop se karmoan ka tyag karane se nahian.
  15. shastranishiddh karm aur kamyakarm sabhi akushal karm hai; kh‍yoanki papakarm to manushy ko nana prakar ki nich yoniyoan mean aur narakamean girane vale haian evan kamyakarm bhi phalabhog ke liye punarjanm dene vale hai. sattvik tyagi mean rag-dvesh ka sarvatha abhav ho jane ke karan yah to nishiddh aur kamyakarmoan ka tyag karata hai, vah dvesh-buddhi se nahian karata; kiantu shastradrishti se lokasangrah ke liye unaka tyag karata hai.
  16. shastravihit nity-naimittik yajn, dan aur tap adi shubh karm nishkamabhav se kiye jane par manushy ke poorvakrit sanchit papoan ka nash karake use karmabandhan se chhuda dene mean samarth hai, isaliye ye kushal kahalate hai. sattvik tyagi jo uparyukt shubh karmoan ka vidhivath anushthan karata hai, vah asaktipoorvak nahian karata; kiantu shastravihit karmoan ka karana manushy ka kartavy hai- is bhavas mamata, asakti aur phalechchha chhodakar lokasangrah ke liye hi unaka anushthan karata hai.
  17. is prakar rag-dvesh se rahit hokar keval kartavyabuddhi se karmoan ka grahan aur tyag karane vala shuddh sattvagun se yukt purush sanshayarahit hai, yani usane bhalibhaanti nishchay kar liya hai ki yah karmayog roop sattvik tyag hi karmabandhan se chhootakar paramapad ko prapt kar lene ka poorn sadhan hai. isiliye vah buddhimanh hai aur vahi sachcha tyagi hai.
  18. koee bhi dehadhari manushy bina karm kiye rah nahian sakata (gita 3/5); kh‍yoanki bina karm kiye sharir ka nirvah hi nahian ho sakata. (gita 3/8) isaliye manushy kisi bhi ashram mean kh‍yoan n rahata ho- jab tak vah jivit rahega, tab tak use apani paristhiti ke anusar khana-pina, sona-baithana, chalana-phirana aur bolana adi kuchh n kuchh karm to karana hi p dega. atev sampoornata se sab karmoan ka svaroop se tyag kiya jana sambhav nahian hai.
  19. jo nishiddh aur kamy-karmoan ka sarvatha tyag karake yathavashyak shastravihit kartavyakarmoan ka anushthan karate hue un karmoan mean aur unake phal mean mamata, asakti aur kamana sarvatha tyag kar deta hai, vahi sachcha tyagi hai.
    oopar se indriyoan ki kriyaoan ka sanyam karake man se vishayoan ka chintan karane vala manushy tyagi nahian nahian hai tatha ahanta, mamata aur asakti ke rahate hue shastravihit yajn, dan aur tap adi kartavyakarmoan ka svaroop tyag kar dene vala bhi tyagi nahian hai.
  20. jinh‍hoanne apane dvara kiye jane vale karmoan mean aur unake phal mean mamata, asakti aur kamana ka tyag nahian kiya hai; jo asakti aur phalechchhapoorvak sab prakar ke karm karane vale hai, unake dvara kiye hue shubh karmoan ka jo svargadi ki prapti ya any kisi prakar ke saansarik isht bhogoan ki prapti roop phal hai, vah achchha phal hai; tatha unake dvara kiye hue pap-karmoanka jo pashu, pakshi, kit, patang aur vriksh adi tiyakh yoniyaan prapti ya narakoan ki prapti athava any kisi prakar ke duahkhoan ki prapti roop phal hai- vah bura phal hai. isi prakar jo manushyadi yoniyoan mean utpann hokar kabhi isht bhogoan ko prapt hona aur kabhi anisht bhogoan ko prapt hona hai, vah mishrit phal hai.
    un purushoan ke karm apana phal bhugatayean bina nasht nahian ho sakate, janm-janmantaroan mean shubhashubh phal dete rahate hai; isiliye aise manushy sansarachakr mean ghumate rahate haian.
  21. karmoan mean aur unake phal mean mamata, asakti aur kamana ka jinh‍hoanne sarvatha tyag kar diya hai; is adhyay ke dasavean shlok mean tyagi ke namase jinake lakshan batalaye gaye hai; gita ke chhathe adhyay ke pahale shlok mean jinake liye ‘sannh‍yasi’ aur ‘yogi’ donoan padoan ka prayog kiya gaya hai- aise karmayogiyo ko yahaan ‘sannh‍yasi’ kaha jata hai.
    is prakar karm phal ka tyag kar dene vale tyagi manushy jitane karm karate hai, ve bhoone hue bij ki bhaanti hote haian, unamean phal utpann karane ki shakti nahian hoti tatha is prakar yarthath kiye jane vale nishkam karmoan se poorvasanchit samast shubhashubh karmoan ka bhi nash ho jata hai. (gita 4/23) is karan unake is janm mean ya janmantaroan mean kiye hue kisi bhi karm ka kisi bhi prakar ka phal kisi bhi avastha mean, jite hue ya marane ke bad kabhi nahian hota; ve karmabandhan sarvatha mukt ho jate hai.
  22. ‘adhishthan’ shabd yahaan mukhyata se karan aur kriya ke adhararoop shariroan ka vachak hai; kiantu gaunaroop se yajnadi karmoan mean tadvishayak kriya ke adhararoop bhoomi adi ka vachak bhi mana ja sakata hai.
  23. yahaan ‘karta’ shabd prakritisth purush ka vachak hai. isi ko gita ke terahavean adhyay ke ikkisavean shlok mean bhokta batalaya gaya hai.
  24. man, buddhi aur ahankar bhitar ke karan hai, tatha paanch jnanendriya aur paanch kamendriyaan- ye das bahar ke karan hai; inake siva gaunaroop se jaise struva adi upakaran yajnadi karmoan ke karane mean sahayak hote hai, isi prakar bhinn-bhinn karmoan ke karane mean jine bhi bhinn-bhinn dvar athava sahayak hai, un sabako yahaan bahy karan kaha ja sakata hai.
  25. ek sthan se doosare sthan me gaman karana, hath-pair adi aangoan ka sanchalan, shvaso ka ana-jana, aangoan ko sikodana-phailana, aankhoan ko kholana aur mooandana, man mean sankalp-vikalpoan ka hona, adi jitani bhi halachal roop kriyaean hai, ve hi nana prakar ki alag-alag cheshtaean hai.
  26. poorvakrit shubhashubh karmoan ke sanskaroan ko ‘daiv’ kahate haian, prarabdh bhi isi ke antargat hai.
  27. manushy sharir mean hi jiv puny aur paparoop navin karm kar sakata hai. any sab bhogayoniyaan hai; unamean poorvakrit karmoan ka phal bhoga jata hai, navin karm karane ka adhikar nahian hai.
  28. yahaan man, vani aur sharir dvara kiye jane vale jitane bhi puny aur paparoop karm hai-jinaka is janm tatha janmantar mean jiv ko phal bhogana p data hai- un sabake ‘ye paancho karan haian’- isamean se kisi ek ke n rahane se karm nahian ban sakata. isiliye bina kartapan ke kiya jane vala karm vastav mean karm nahian hai.
  29. vastav mean atma, nity, shuddh, buddh, nirvikar aur sarvatha asang hai; prakriti se, prakriti janit padartho se ya karmoan se usaka kuchh bhi sambandh nahian hai; kiantu anadisiddh avidha ke karan asang atma ka hi is prakriti ke sath sambandh sa ho raha hai; atah vah durbhati prakriti dvara sampadit kriyaoan mean mithya abhiman karake (gita 3/27) svayan un karmoan ka karta ban jata hai. is prakar karta bane hue purush ka nam hi ‘prakritisth purush’ hai; vah un prakriti dvara sampann huee kriyaoan ka karta banata hai, tabhi unaki karm ‘sanjna’ hoti hai. aur ve karm phal dene vale ban jate haian. isaliye us prakritisth purush ko achchhi buri yoniyoan me janm dharan karake un karmoan ka phal bhogana p data hai.
