[2] in donoan mean se kaun-sa maun hai? yahaan maun bhav ka varnan kijiye. khya vidvan purush maun ke dvara monaroop paramatma ko prapht hota hai? mune! sansar mean log maun ka acharan kis prakar karate haian? sanatsujat ne kaha- rajan! jahaan man ke sahit vani roop ved nahian pahuanch pate us paramathma ka hi nam maun h isaliye vahi maun shvaroop hai. vaidik tatha laukik shabhdoan ka jahaan se pradurbhav hua hai, ve parameshravar tanhmayatapoorvak dhhyan karane se prakash mean ate haian. dhritarashhtr bole- vidvan jo rrigved, yajurved aur samaved ko janata hai tatha pap karata hai, vah us pap se lipht hota hai ya nahian? sanathsujat ne kaha- rajan! maian tumase asathy nahian kahata, rrik, sam athava yajurved koee bhi pap karane vale ajnani ki usake pap karm se raksha nahian karate. jo kapat poorvak dharm ka acharan karata hai, us mithhyachari ka ved papoan se uddhar nahian karate. jaise pankh nikal ane par pakshi apana ghoansala chho d dete haian, usi prakar aant kal mean ved bhi usaka parithyag kar dete haian.
dhritarashhtr bole- vidvan! yadi dharm ke bina ved raksha karane mean samarth nahian haian, to vedavetta brahmanoan ke pavitr hone ka pralap[3] chirakal se khyoan chala ata hai? sanatsujat ne kaha- mahanubhav! parabrahm paramatma ke hi nam adi vishesh roopoan se is jagat ki pratit hoti hai. yah bat ved achhchhi tarah nirdesh karake kahate haian. kiantu vashtav mean usaka shvaroop is vishv se vilakshan bataya jata hai. usi ki prapti ke liye ved mean tap aur yajnoan ka pratipadan kiya gaya hai. in tap aur yajnoan ke dvara us shrotriy vidvan purush ko puny ki prapti hoti hai. phir us nishhkam karmaroop punhy se pap ko nashht kar dene ke pashchat usaka aantakaran jnan se prakashit ho jata hai. tab vah vidvan purush jnan se paramathma ko prapht hota hai; kiantu isake viparit jo bhogabhilashi purush dharm, arth aur kamaroop trivarg phal ki ichhchha rakhate haian, ve is lok mean kiye hue sabhi karmoan ko sath le jakar unhhean paralok mean bhogate haian tatha bhog samapht hone par pun: is sansar marg mean laut ate haian. is lok mean jo tapasya [4] ki jati hai, usaka phal paralok mean bhoga jata hai; parantu jo brahmopasak is lok mean nishhkamabhav se gurutar tapashya karate haian, ve isi lok mean tattv jnan roop phal prapht karate haian aur mukht ho jate haian. is prakar ek hi tapashya rriddh aur samriddh ke bhed se do prakar ki hai.
dhritarashhtr ne poochha- sanatsujataji vishuddh bhavayukht keval tap aisa prabhavashali badha-chadha kaise ho jata hai? yah is prakar kahiye, jisase ham use samajh lean. sanathsujat ne kaha-rajan! yah tap sab prakar se nirdosh hota hai. isamean bhog vasana roop dosh nahian rahata. isaliye yah vishuddh kaha jata hai aur isiliye yah vishuddh tap sakam tap ki apeksha phal ki drishti se bhi bahut badha-chadha hota hai.[1] rajan tum jis tapasya ke vishay mean mujhase poochh rahe ho, yah tapashya hi sare jagat ka mool hai. vedavetta vidvan is nishhkam tap se hi param amrit moksh ko prapht hote haian.
sanatsujat dvara dhritarashhtr ko tapashya ke dosh batana
dhritarashhtr bole- sanathsujataji maianne dosh rahit tapashya ka mahathv suna. ab tapashya ke jo dosh haian, unhhean bataiye, jisase maian is sanatan gopaniy brahmatattv ko jan sakooan. sanathsujat ne kaha- rajan tapashya ke krodh adi barah dosh haian tatha terah prakar ke nrishans manushhy hote haian. manhvadi shashtroan mean kathit brahmanoan ke dharm adi barah gun prasiddh haian. kam, krodh, lobh, moh, chikirsha, nirdayata, asooya, abhiman, shok, shpriha, eershhya aur nianda-manushhyoan mean rahane vale ye barah dosh manushhyoan ke liye sada hi thyag dene yoghy haian. narashreshhth jaise vhyagh mrigoan ko marane ka chhidr[5] dekhata hua unaki toh mean laga rahata hai, usi prakar inamean se ek-ek dosh manushhyoan ka chhidr dekhakar un par akraman karata hai. apani bahut b daee karane vale, lolup, tanik se bhi apaman ko sahan n karane vale, nirantar krodhi,chanchal aur ashritoan ki raksha nahian karane vale- ye chh: prakar ke manushhy papi haian. mahan sankat mean p dane par bhi ye nidar hokar in pap-karmoan ka acharan karate haian. samhbhog mean hi man lagane vale, vishamata rakhane vale, athyant mani, dan dekar pashchatap karane vale, athyant kripan, arth aur kam ki prashansa karane vale tatha striyoan ke dveshi- ye sat aur pahale ke chh: kul terah prakar ke manushhy nrishansavarg[6] kahe gaye haian.
dharm, sathy, indriyanigrah tap, mathsarata ka abhav, lajhja, sahanashilata, kisi ke dosh n dekhana, yajn karana, dan dena, dhairy aur shashtrajnan- ye brahman ke barah vrat haian. jo in barah vratoan [7] par apana prabhuthv rakhata hai, vah is samhpoorn prithvi ke manushhyoan ko apane adhin kar sakata hai. inamean se tin, do ya ek gun se bhi jo yukht ho, usake pas sabhi prakar ka dhan hai, aisa samajhana chahiye. dam, thyag aur apramad -in tin gunoan mean amrit ka vas hai. jo manishi buddhiman brahman haian, ve kahate haian ki in gunoan ka mukh sathyashvaroop paramatma ki or hai[8] dam atharah gunoan vala hai. nimhnaankit atharah doshoan ke thyag ko hi atharah gun samajhana chahiye- kartavhy-akartavhy ke vishay mean viparit dharana, asathy bhashan, gunoan mean dosh drishti, shtri-vishayak-kamana, sada dhanoparjan mean hi lage rahana, bhogechhchha, krodh, shok, trishhna, lobh, chugali karane ki adat, dah, hiansa, santap, shastr mean arati, kartavhy ki vishmrit, adhik bakavad aur apane ko b da samajhana- in doshoan se jo mukht hai, usi ko sathpurush daant[9] kahate haian. mad mean atharah dosh haian oopar jo dam ke viparyay soochit kiye gaye haian, ve hi mad ke dosh bataye gaye haian. thyag chh: prakar ka hota hai, vah chhahoan prakar ka thyag athyant uthtam hai; kiantu inamean tisara arthat kamathyag bahut hi kathin hai, isake dvara manushhy trividh du:khoan ko nishchay hi par kar jata hai. kam ka thyag kar dene par sab kuchh jit liya jata hai.
sanatsujat dvara dhritarashhtr ko tyag ke bare mean batana
rajenhdr! chh: prakar ka jo sarvashreshhth thyag hai, use batate haian. lakshmi ko pakar harshit n hona- yah pratham thyag hai; yajn-homadi mean tatha kuean, talab aur bagiche adi banane mean dhan kharch karana- doosara thyag hai aur sada vairaghy se yukht rahakar kam ka thyag karana- yah tisara thyag kaha gaya hai. maharshi log ise anirvachaniy moksh ka upay kahate haian. at: yah tisara thyag vishesh gun mana gaya hai. vairaghyapoorvak padarthoan ke thyag se jo nishhkamata ati hai, vah shvechhchha poorvak unaka upabhog karane se nahian ati. adhik dhan-samhpati ke sangrah se nishhkamata nahian siddh hoti tatha kamana poorvak ke liye usaka upabhog karane se bhi kam ka thyag nahian hota. jo purush sab gunoan se yukht aur dhanavan hoan, yadi usake kiye hue karm siddh n hoan to unake liye du:kh evan ghlani n karean. koee apriy ghatana ho jaye to kabhi vhyatha ko n prapht ho yah chautha thyag hai. apane abhishhth padarth shtri v putradi ki kabhi yachana n kare yah paanchavaan thyag hai. suyoghy yachak ke a jane par use dan kare yah chhatha thyag hai. in sabase kalhyan hota hai. in thyagamay gunoan se manushhy apramadi hota hai.
us apramad ke bhi ath gun mane gaye haian- sathy, dhhyan, adhhyathmavishayak vichar, samadhan, vairaghy, chauri n karana, brahmachary aur aparigrah. ye ath gun thyag aur apramad donoan ke hi samajhane chahiye. isi prakar jo mad ke atharah dosh pahale bataye gaye haian, unaka sarvatha thyag karana chahiye. pramad ke ath dosh haian, unhhean bhi thyag dena chahiye. bharat! paanch indriyaan aur chhatha man- inaki apane-apane vishayoan mean jo bhogabuddhi se pravritti hoti haian, chh: to ye hi pramad vishayak dosh haian aur bhootakal ki chinta tatha bhavishhy ki asha- do dosh ye haian. in ath doshoan se mukt purush sukhi hota hai.
rajendr tum satyasvaroop ho jao, saty mean hi sampoorn lok pratishthit haian. ve dam, tyag aur apramad adi gun bhi satyasvaroop paramatma ki prapti karane vale haian; saty mean hi amrit ki pratishhtha hai. doshoan ko nivritt karake hi yahaan tap aur vrat ka acharan karana chahiye, yah vidhata ka banaya hua niyam hai. saty hi shreshhth purushoan ka vrat hai. manushhy ko uparyukt doshoan se rahit aur gunoan se yukt hona chahiye. aise purush ka hi vishuddh tap atyant samriddh hota hai. rajan! tumane jo mujhase poochha hai, vah maianne sankshep se bata diya. yah tap janm, mrityu aur vriddhavastha ke kashht ko door karane vala, papahari tatha param pavitr hai.
ved ke bare mean batana
dhritarashhtr ne kaha- mune! itihas puran jinamean paanchavaan hai, un sampoorn vedoan ke dvara kuchh logoan ka vishesh roop se nam liya jata hai arthath ve panchavedi kahalate haian, doosare log chaturvedi aur trivedi kahe jate haian. isi prakar kuchh log dvivedi, ekavedi ttha anrich[10] kahalate haian. inamean se kaun-se aise haian, jinhean maian nishchit roop se brahman samajhooan? sanatsujat ne kaha- rajan! srishti ke adi mean ved ek hi the, parantu n samajhane ke karan[11] bahut-se vibhag kar diye gaye haian. us saty svaroop ek ved ke saratattv paramatma mean to koee birala hi sthit hota hai. is prakar ved ke tattv ko n janakar bhi kuchh log ‘maian vidvan hooan’ aisa manane lagate h phir unaki dan, adhhyayan aur yajnadi karmoan mean[12] lobh se pravritti hoti hai. vastav mean jo satyasvaroop paramatma se chyut ho gaye haian, unhian ka vaisa sankalp hota hai. phir satyaroop ved ke pramanhy ka nishhchay karake hi unake dvara yajnoan ka vistar[13] kiya jata hai.[14] kisi ka yajn man se, kisi ka vani se tatha kisi ka kriya ke dvara sampadit hota hai. saty sankalp purush sankalp ke anusar hi lokoan ko prapt hota hai. jab tak sankalp siddh n ho, tab tak dikshit vrat ka acharan arthat yajnadi karm karate rahana chahiye. yah[15] dikshit nam ‘diksh vratadeshe’ is dhatu se bana hai. satpurushoan ke satyasvaroop paramatma hi sabase badhakar haian. kyoanki paramatma ke jnan ka phal pratyaksh hai aur tap ka phal paroksh hai isaliye jnan ka hi ashray lena chahiye. bahut padhane vale brahman ko keval bahupathi[16] samajhana chahiye. isaliye maharaj! keval batean banane se hi kisi ko brahman n man lena. jo satyasvaroop paramatma se kabhi prithak nahian hota, usi ko tum brahman samajho.
rajan! atharva muni evan maharshisamuday ne poorvakal mean jinaka gan kiya hai, ve hi chhand[17] haian. kiantu sampoorn ved padh lene par bhi jo vedoan ke dvara janane yogy paramatma ke tattv ko nahian janate, ve vastav mean ved ke vidvan nahian haian. narashreshhth! chhand (ved) us paramatma mean svachchhand sambandh se sthit svat:praman haian. isaliye unaka adhhyayan karake hi vedavetta aryajan vedyaroop paramatma ke tattv ko prapt hue haian. rajan! vastav mean ved ke tattv ko janane vala koee nahian hai athava yoan samajho ki koee birala hi unaka rahasy jan pata hai. jo keval ved ke vakyoan ko janata hai, vah vedoan ke dvara janane yogy paramatma ko nahian janata; kiantu jo saty mean sthit hai, vah vedavedy paramatma ko janata hai. janane valoan mean se koee bhi vedoan ko arthath unake rahasy ko janane vala nahian hai kyoanki janane mean ane vale man-buddhi adi ke dvara n to koee ved ke rahasy ko jan pata hai aur n janane yogy paramatmatattv ko hi. jo manushhy keval karm vidhayak ved ko janata hai vah to buddhi dvara janane mean ane vale padarthoan ko hi janata hai kiantu jo buddhi dvara janane yogy padarthoan ko janata hai, vah sakami purush vastavik tattv parabrahm paramatma ko nahian janata. jo mahapurush vedoan ke rahasy ko janata hai, vah apane yogy paramatma ko bhi janata hai parantu us janane vale ko n to vedoan ke shabdoan ko janane vala janata hai aur n ved hi janate haian. tathapi ved ke rahasy ko janane vale jo brahmavetta mahapurush hai, ve us ved ke dvara hi ved ke rahasy ko jan lete haian arthath vedoan ka kathan itana gupt hai ki keval shabd jnan se usaka rahasy evan usamean varnit paramatma tattv samajh mean nahi ata. ant:karan shuddh hone par sadguru ya prabhu ki kripa se hi sadhak use samajh pata hai. dvitiya ke chandrama ki sookshhm kala ko batane ke liye jaise vriksh ki shakha ki or sanket kiya jata hai, usi prakar us saty svaroop paramatma ka jnan karane ke liye hi vedoan ka bhi upayog kiya jata hai aisa vidvan purush manate haian.[18] maian to usi ko brahman samajhata hooan, jo paramatma ke tattv ko janane vala aur vedoan ki yatharth vyakhhya karane vala ho, jisake apane sandeh mit gaye hoan aur jo doosaroan ke bhi sampoorn sanshayoan ko mita sake. is atma ki khoj karane ke liye poorv, pashchim, uttar ya dakshin ki or jane ki avashhyakata nahian haian phir agney adi konoan ki to bat hi kya hai? isi prakar digvibhag se rahit pradesh mean bhi use nahian dhooandhana chahiye. atma ka anusandhan anatmapadarthoan mean to kisi tarah kare hi nahian, ved ke vakyoan mean bhi n dhoodhakar keval tap ke dvara us prabhu ka sakshatkar kare. vagadi indriyoan ki sab prakar ki cheshhta se rahit hokar paramatma ki upasana kare, man se bhi koee cheshhta n kare. rajan! tum bhi apane hridayakash mean sthit us vikhhyat parameshrvar ki buddhipoorvak upasana karo. maun rahane athava jangal mean nivas karane matr se koee muni nahian hota. jo apane atma ke svaroop ko janata hai, vahi shreshhth muni kahalata hai. sampoorn arthoan ko vyakrit[19] karane ke karan jnani purush ‘vaiyakaran’ kahalata hai. yah samast arthoan ka prkatikaran moolabhoot brahm se hi hota hai, at: vahi mukhhy vaiyakaran hai vidvan purush bhi isi prakar arthoan ko vyakrit[20] karata hai, isaliye vah bhi vaiyakaran hai. jo yogi sampoorn lokoan ko pratyaksh dekh leta hai, vah manushhy un sab lokoan ka drashhta kahalata hai parantu jo ekamatr saty svaroop brahm mean hi sthit hai, vahi brahmavetta brahman sarvajn hota hai.[21]
